I have just read the many posts on this issue and I have a 2015 Tiguan 2.0 Diesel that has now spent 14 weeks sitting at the dealers awaiting VW to provide a fix. Although the dealer has been extremely helpful I have been continually messed about by VW direct and they are still unable to provide a fix, as they state that replacing the valve will not necessarily fix the issue. Has anyone had similar experiences and if so what was the outcome? The work is covered by VW warranty and I have been given a courtesy car but this is more expensive to run on diesel as is a 3.0l V6 Touareg.0

My husband has just bought an A4 that had had the 'fix' done, whilst I have refused to have it done to my A3. It not only robbed his car of power but also of mpg. He has just had to pay £180 to have this reversed at a local garage as you have to buy a licence for it to be done. I have so far refused to have the 'fix' as I like the power I have. My A3 is an 09 plate and currently has 131,000+ on the clock. It is multi-tronic with the DSG gearbox and gives me great mpg - often 62+ on a long run. I have been bombarded with letters from Audi regarding this and have even received a further letter from them saying that there is actually a further problem with another bit of software which could cause my car to breakdown! This, I think, is just an excuse to get my car in so that they can update the emissions software at the same time as I ignored that one as well and I have not received anything further on this particular 'problem'. We also had a friend who took their car in for a service and specifically told Audi they didn't want the upgrade and even wrote it down - they were ignored and Audi did the upgrade anyway. They have also lost power and mpg.
I am so angry with Audi for their underhand way of trying to get a car in so that they can sneakily update this software without you knowing or giving permission. Personally, my car is never going near an Audi garage again and will go to my local Audi independent specialist instead.0 -

Thats really interesting to read. Although it's not good to hear about your husbands or your friends Audi's, it will no doubt help many on here who are also unsure about getting the "fix" carried out. My wife has an A1, 1.6 diesel and she has been sent countless letters asking her to bring it in for the "fix". I've advised her not to due to all the horror stories. We've even had an email asking us to book the car in OR declare that we don't want it done. We've done neither. As far as I'm concerned, it's our car, not Audi's. I don't have to declare anything to them regarding OUR car.
It never occurred to me, though, that Audi may just do the "fix" when the car is next at the dealers - without authorisation. Our car has a full Audi Service History. I'd like to have kept it that way but I can now say we won't be near another dealership to have any future services carried out. This is a direct result of your friends experience by the way. After reading that, I now don't trust Audi to change my oil without tinkering with the ECU! So thank you for sharing your stories.

Yesterday I recieved a letter from Audi UK. It tells me that 'Action Required' technical measure 23X6 NOx emissions V Tdi engines.
It talks about Audi AG is examining for irregularities. I have now to report with my A6 3.0Tdi to my 'local' Audi dealership which 35 miles away! possibly leave my vehicle with them.
Is anyone else here aware of this and is the action possibly going to be widened to include 3.0tdi engines too?0 -

This recall is over a year old anyway.
