Done 2 loads of washing this morning. Not drying too well here so one load on the line and the other in the basket waiting to go out. Made a stollen in the BM this morning and then made a lovely herb loaf. Popped into town and OH dared to say 'oh i think i'll have a subway sandwich for lunch'. Death stares from me and we came home. i made him a chicken sandwich with mayo for lunch and he admitted it was better than any subway sandwich ever would be.

Has anyone tried to make the Panettonne recipe that's in the Panasonic booklet you get with the breadmaker? Have made it twice but it is still stodgy in the middle. any ideas on how to make it right please?

Hi everybody! having an OS day in that I am off sick... again! So sitting on my !!!!!! seeing what you lot are up to :D .

Seems to be a cat theme today! Spoke to the neighbours about their cat yesterday, just to say I was a bit worried because whatever he fought most recently has left a good wound on the cats head that looks like it is getting pretty infected! Bless him, can be a lovely cat but I think he has anger management issues :D Oh well, they said they might pop him down to the vets as he has been more placid the last couple of cdays which is unlike him!

Zziggi I have only found a couple of recipes for proeper Panettonne and I think it would take about three days to make it! You have to make it, leave to rise for 8 hours, do something else and then let rise for 10 hours... not sure that helps at all but that would explain the stodge...
oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!

    Hello again,

Been busy, so a late start!

First of DS1's 2 guests left before 8 this morning, 2nd at 14:00. But rental house only has one change of sheets for each bed, so all bedding now washed & dried and back on :D House cleaned with DS1 & 2s help. New guests arrive this afternoon/evening so the panic is over now.

OH has checked in at the airport, so won't see him again until Friday, it's too long :o

Success of the morning was we'd bought an espresso machine (we did rent the only house in France where they don't drink coffee  ), but it leaked and we had boiling water everywhere when we used it. So this morning went with my crib sheet (of the French for leak, handle, refund) it was off to the hypermarche, surprisingly managed to get a refund, it involved customer services, then a trip to an aftersales place in a remote part of the carpark & back to customer services, and it was all in French plus pointing at the picture on the box and pointing at the words on the crib sheet. Maybe not brilliant French, but it worked :j

Lady_lucan Good luck with Ebay, I get nervous whenever I sell anything on Ebay, I always have to keep having a look :o , I don't think I really relax until they've got the product and given feedback.

Prudent - hope things go well for you & your cats at the vets.

Greenlogo - sorry to hear about your cat. I know it was all for the best, but it still hurts when you lose them.

Got to get moving again now, one of the visitors is basically vegetarian plus a little fish & poultry, plus diagnosed as lactose intolerant, so it's going to be mainy vegan this week. Managed to find some soya desserts at the hypermarche and a soya version of natural yoghurt for savouries, so that will help, so not too bad. :D

    Have a good day

    Bye

Greenlogo - So sorry to hear about your cat, it doesn't matter how old they are they still leave a big gap in your lives don't they! I still miss my old girl 9 months on but still have another two to dote on. Somebody nice on here mentioned camomile tea and it did help a bit to calm me when the tears were falling. ((((((HUG)))))

Prudent - I am thinking of you and your cat, have been there and it is a very worrying time. Hope you have some good news.

Lillibet - Shouldn't you be resting and making the most of the peace and quiet while you can? Mind you I was also much the same (nesting instinct) and it might just hurry things along but be careful you don't overdo it! Will be thinking of you - can your oh (amongst all the other calls he will have to make) get online and let us all know how you get on as well?

Well am packing up dd's things to go up north soon. Doesn't seem possible that my baby is leaving home!:(
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Hope everyone's ok, sorry to hear about the cats. I have some good news - made £95 on my ebay sales (10 sales, all but 1 Cds) and spent the money on a discounted breadmaker (Panasonic) and slow-cooker! Thrifty or what eh?

Afternoon All. Its evening actualy, but feels like afternoon for some reason...

Hugs to all those with cat troubles.

My day has been fairly boring, spent 3hours at the garage with the damn car, its working now though. Also, my kettle broke and I didnt have time to go through the boil pan of water on the stove to make tea nightmare, and had a banging headache all day (lack of caffeine - im evil without it :o ). Ended up in tesco and bought one for about £5.50 that is so quiet, I thought it was broken! I realised its just that my old kettle was so naff, it deserved binning anyway!

Had home made burgers for tea so boyf is all smiles, and is currently watching topgear or some such boy programme, but he still has to get ready for his interview tomorrow, so he will probably be whingey all evening... I however, have a mass of things to do and the antibiotics have worked wonders - so im back to my active self and have to get on with everything I neglected to do over the last week, but firstly, im off to watch part two of supermarket secrets!

    Have a nice evening all!

    Morning All!

Boyf has interview this morning so I shall be escorting him to Bristol as I have many a thing I could do over there too. I gave him a haircut last Night, and I knew he would be a bit shocked initially, as his hair was really long and it had to go to make him smart. Also gave him a bit of a makeover - he looks so cute and innocent now!! All young and fresh!! Bless!

Anyway, just having morning cupp tea before I run and Iron shirts and the like, then jump in the car as have to battle the traffic.......

    Will report back later!
