In 2019 I hope to achieve the following

    1) move house
    2) run 2019 miles at least
    3) be mindful of how I spend my time
    4) find time to do arts and crafts
    5) pay off at least half of my debt (£10,000)
    6) focus on the positive and stop letting my past hold me back
    7) use my weekends wisely and do something I enjoy

    My aims for 2019:

    1) Start a website/blog, primarily for what I do for work.
    2) Pay off a decent amount of debt/save a good amount.
    3) Lose 10cm or more off my belly.
    4) Run a 5km race.
    5) Get my total countries visited to 50. (On 46 currently)
    6) Watch and rate 160 films on the IMDB top 250 list. (on 63 so far)

That'll do. Let's see how many I manage.

Having missed most of these last year I'm re-posting and going to try again

    Here's mine

    End of first quarter

To have sorted out OH's pensions
    Stuck to first quarter budget
Agree bank account every month and adjust accordingly, not just for the first month as usual
Booked two holidays for me and OH
    Have re-committed to exercise
Stopped ordering so much from Amazon - it's too easy!

    End of half year

Have paid off two of three 0% credit cards
    Have lost one stone
Have had at least one long weekend away with OH

    End of year

Paid off an extra £10k on mortgage
    Changed mortgage provider
    Maintained weight loss
Pay for Christmas 2019 out of savings

Resolution - to declutter the bedroom.

I'm starting this month with just getting the house back to normal after Christmas as my last visitor only left yesterday and I had put a lot of stuff in the garage out of the way.

At the moment I keep paperwork, presents/cards, household organiser etc in my bedroom. Ultimately I want to find a better location but I can't do that now as other rooms would have to be decluttered first and I just want to concentrate on my room now until it's finished and I can think about decoration.

    January goals are -
buy a new diary (I've got small ones but the shops run out of my bigger one)
put away 2018 paperwork and start 2019 files
    update household organiser
put away all unused Christmas cards
    January birthdays
    Declutter birthday box

Anyone else up for a quarterly check in?? I’m actually kind of surprised both that I’ve done fairly well on some but also that I’ve totally forgotten others!
So I’m going to make a start on my resolutions for this year, though they’ll be work in progress over the next few days:

    One offs
    • Make a will (again) no
    • Go to Spain to visit family Done
    • Refresh bathroom (paint and reseal bath) Will be done this month
    • Get outside of the house painted Will be done this month
    • Check all Direct Debits and cancel any I don't need Done a bit could do with checking again
    • Change internet provider Done
    • Keep a note of spending for one month No

    Health
(As a smug note I’ve lost a stone the last year, much needed)
smug note update, another half stone or so off this quarter, still another 10lbs or so to go
    • Go to all of my exercise classes mostly yes except for the extra one I signed up to which I abandoned
    • Eat healthfully and use supports regularly (e.g. My Fitness Pal) MFP filled in pretty much honestly every day this year so far
    • Focus on not drinking alcohol, it makes me feel worse Have been pretty good most of the time
    • Be more active at weekends Yes have got into a Saturday morning routine
    • Walk 2019 miles Currently at about 510 miles for the quarter so on target
    • Think about meditation again Well i have *thought* about it lol
    • Improve vegetable consumption Have gone from doing nothing to doing something if that counts

My end goal is to have lost at least another stone over the year, ideally more, and be close to my goal weight of 147lbs At 157lbs just now

    Family
    • Be more accepting of who and how people are Yes, I was struggling with one close family member and this has improved
    • See close family regularly Yes I have a kind of a schedule for it
    • See friends regularly and try to come up with reasons for regular dates See Saturday morning exercise :)

    Work
    • Do my day and go home - it’s only work Got drawn into a couple of big projects so not so good on this, glad to be reminded this was a goal!
    • Connect more with wider team and be more of a team player A bit
    • Build networks (go to events, meet people) Have done a few things, need to do more
    • Be OK with saying no (politely) I’ve got better at putting things off but it’s not the same lol
    • Be positive Forgot about this one!

    Finances
    • Keep up to date with financial admin - check in once a monthA lot better on this
    • Save £600 to long term savings Set up a DD of £50 a month
    • Continue to build short term savings fund (£1200) Achieved I think
    • Keep OH up to date with our financial positionWell I’m trying!

Beyond all of that, my other goal is to be kind to myself, to accept that sometimes things are tough. Working at it

Longer term I’d like to do some decluttering as well but as per the above I’m not putting that pressure on myself just yet. Of everything above, the health/weight loss is by far the priority!
I’ve actually done a good declutter in most of the house need to finish one room and then go back and start again, it’s like the Firth of Forth in our house lol

    1) Haven't started this but hope to in April.
    2) I set myself financial targets at the beginning of the year and I'm probably ahead of schedule so I'd say this one is going well.
    3) I've lost about 3cm so far and about 2kg after a lazy Feb so I'm probably on track for this one.
    4) Not ready yet, hopefully early June.
    5) It's looking like I'm postponing a major holiday I had planned so unlikely to achieve this. I have been to one new country so far this year though, Sweden.
    6) I'm up to 92.

A quarterly check in is probably a good idea for motivation, as I am aware that I’m not doing very brilliantly :(
    1. Lose weight - I managed to lose 12lbs in the 3 months before my daughter’s wedding last year but have put 3lbs back on since :o
I found it much easier when I had the date of the wedding as a specific target to focus on. I’ve tried giving myself target dates to aim for, but struggle to stay focused without a specific reason.
I will persevere though. Failing at this one :(

    2. Finances - continue to make small overpayments with the aim of reducing the term. Doing ok so far :)
Current fixed rate ends around Easter so also hoping to get a good new deal, reducing the due MP slightly, which will add to the OPs. Got a fab new deal which reduced my MP by about 20%, which is being added to my OPs :j

    3. Declutter - Having sorted out the biggest bedroom this summer, I now can't actually get into my smallest spare bedroom at all :o (keeping the door closed helps enable me to ignore it :D )
I need to do this during days with longer daylight hours though - last time I ventured in there to look for something, there was a power cut and I was trapped in there in the pitch black for two hours as I'd managed to block my way out moving boxes around! :rotfl:
    Haven’t started this yet:o

    4. Travel - hoping to be able to get away this year, however this is not in my control. I need my daughter & son-in-law to confirm if they can take holiday from their work to come and stay and look after (their) cats, and to give me the dates. Not looking very promising :(
2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shading
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end
    MFW #4 OPs (offset): 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07,
    2021 £1250.00, 2022 £1500.00, 2023 £1500
    Target for 2024 (offset) = £1200, YTD £460
