1) Learn to recognise my own achievements. I'm constantly striving for better but never seem to look at where I currently am and appreciate what I have. I have built a business from absolutely nothing and despite being in a far better position than I've ever been in, I spend a lot of life stressing about what might or might not happen next month. One quiet day and I feel the panic rising about it all crashing down. It's stupid and a stressful way to live.

2) Be more thankful. Sounds trite and ties in with number 1, but I want to stop and appreciate more. Even during the toughest of times, there is so much to be thankful for. I want to remember that. I suppose, in short, it's to live more mindfully.

3) Lose the stupid weight I've gained this year. Largely due to laziness with diet and too many large glasses of wine. I also spend a lot of time on the road and eat far too many jelly babies or fruit pastilles while driving. Sweets are treats, they are not lunch!

4) Not set any financial targets for this coming year. Again, links to the first and second goal. But the only money goal is to make good financial decisions. Limit impulse buys and spend money mindfully too.

4) Attend two dance classes a week. For me it's the best way to be fit and healthy. I burn calories and have fun.

Declutter my bedroom and when this gets done, improve it as much as I can.

I'm in too!

1. Have a fun 'do things' year with the OH. It's our silver anniversary year in 2019.
2. Get to grips with going 'no dig' on the veg. plot.
3. Look after my nails - for the first time in my life I shall go and have a professional manicure done to get me motivated.
4. Try to learn a new skill every month - to start off the new year I've booked myself onto a session to learn how to crochet in January.

• I want to comeback to this thread in 2019 to:

Son having finally brought his first flat ( ongoing issues with a flat, wasted 6 months, so offered on another one, going through at the moment)
Either a new kitchen or a small extension for a downstairs loo
At least a stone lighter if not more
A different job or a total career change ( would love to be a social worker but only got a 2:2; although I was 41 when I got it )
Both my kids to still be doing well at their jobs
Hubby to be I better health and lost some weight too
• I lost my nanna in February of this year from complications following a chest infection. This time last year we had no idea that we only had 6 weeks left with her,It came as such a shock. This year had held some lows and some highs and big changes. We bought our first home after being housing association tenants and renting for 14 years. Our home is quite a distance from where we used to live, So this has been a good challenge and so far we love it here. My goals for 2019 are:

Continue to have a happy and loving marriage
Continue to help my children grow into lovely people, spend time with them and taking time to just 'be'-enjoying the little things that life has to offer
Complete my course through work to allow me a pay rise
Continue to manage our bills and pay down the debt. I would like to be in a better financial position this time next year (moving house is so expensive! )
Help my husband seek a different job which pays better and makes him happier

Think that will do, good luck kezzygirl- 2019 will be a good year. You've got this x
• I love the idea of this thread. I've been working on improving myself since Sept and have made some significant progress.

I'm going to think about this and post back later this week when I finalise what I'd like to achieve by next Dec.

All the best with your plans everyone!
