Hello, I'm a long time lurker that reads lots of handy advice from you wonderful people. I'm after a bit of help though, I have a new man (yay!!!!) and am cooking for him round his tomorrow.....any ideas for recipes that are....
1)Cheap
2)Don't need many ingredients (I'll have to take them round with me after work)
3) Will impress him massively????!!!

    He's a farmer so a 'meat and two veg' chap, "none of this funny pasta stuff you get these days". Probably not eggs either as he practically lives on the things (there's a lot of chickens on the farm!). Other than that I don't know!

    how about a corned beef hash very basic cooking not faffy lol
    i cube my corned beef put in frying pan with onions add dash woucster sauce and 2 tbsp tom puree
    plonk in bottom of lasange dish add a layer of baked means top with mash pots and cheese
    i know its basic but my man loves this served with brown sauce and hes a basic eater meat and 2 veg lol

    u could add hm colsow to the steak or a little patty of homemade herby butter
    and as for dessert id go for icecream ;@)

    Once, a few years ago I did this in my then b/f (now lovely o/h) flat. I sat him in front of something he wanted to watch, then shut my self in the kitchen banging pots and pans for all I was worth.
    What I actually gave him was yummy butchers sausages and fried onions in a crusty baguette, with a bottle of beer.
    He laughed so much, because he thought I was whipping up something posh!!!

    I'd opt for the casserole, easy enough to heat up and you could even prep the veg to take with you.
