It's a fly drive, car included but not sure what they will sting you for in local taxes when you pick it up, still a good price though.
Wow!
There's some great deals there - shame I'm booked already and they're all from down south.
But, anyone looking for a late deal - that's fantastic. Saw a 21 day flydrive for £393 for two people:eek:
Best avoid the car deals like you alluded to as the costs of insurance etc are expensive, but you could get a car hire deal from usrentacar for like £200.
mustbeorganised: hope you don't mind, but I entered this as a hot deal.0 -
Hi pompeyrich - glad to hear you had a good time in Orlando!
Would you be interested in doing a Travel Guide to tell moneysaving peeps about your experience?
Check out the Travel Guides Thread for information and to view the NY Guide by markymoo. It'd be much appreciated, if you have time of course.
If anyone else would be interested in doing a guide, simply post on the thread and I'll PM you with further info.

Thanks Crabman, not sure if I am qualified enough to do a big article like that. One persons great holiday is anothers nightmare. We like villa holidays as they suit us, we are not early risers so the freedom to grab some toast and cereal mid morning before heading off to the parks, beach or wherever, is ideal, we are on holiday after all. A guy I worked with planned his holiday there like it was a military operation, up at 7 breakfast, out by 8, 9 at the latest, drive to the parks, do everything in order, then dinner on the way home, bed by 10 and start over, when he got back he said his kids were moaning all the time and couldn't understand why !! He thought I wasted my time sleeping in, maybe I did, I thought he overdone the planning, maybe he did but each to their own.
I guess practical things like hiring a car, or not, villa vs hotel, on-site at Disney or off-site, DIY or package are personal choices and I dont really feel comfortable recommending or advising on one over the other.
Hopefully someone will do a guide as this thread really is too long now, how many people are really going to plough through all 100+ pages, maybe a FAQ for Florida might be a good idea.0 -

Even if you dump the car and arrange your own car hire the flight is still a good deal.
We are tempted to go again next Feb and Virgin have flights for £288 from London to Orlando between 25/12/07 and 20/3/08.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)0 -
Just returned from Orlando yesterday with TravelCity Direct, have to say, the hotel was perfect (Homewood Suites, I-Drive) they were on the ball on the plane regarding my son's nut allergy, they gave 3 announcements asking to refrain from eating nut products and selling anything with nut products.Supplied nut free meals also ............ but, I'll never fly with TCD again. The plane, an old Air Atlanta, was the grubbiest plane I've ever been on, seats were dirty, cramped and past-it basically. We were sat right next to the kitchen outward and inward, coming home trying to get some sleep was a no-no. The staff were talking and laughing very loud and it was like blackpool illuminations, gave no consideration to the passengers trying to sleep.
And, noticed on landing, 5 fire vehicles racing alongside us blue lights flashing untill we stopped......now that was worrying !!!0 -
Hi, I have been reading these posts for a few weeks now as I am going to book for Florida for next year but could do with some advice. We would really like to go for 3 weeks at end of July. A friend of a friend has a villa for rent at £500 p/w, is this a good price? (there are 2 adults and 2 children) Also flights seem to be around £2600, am I better to wait a while to see if prices come down, am I likely to get them cheaper? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks0

I suppose it depends on the villa and how well appointed it is. And where it is. We got a 4 bed, two bathroom place for less than £800 for two weeks in August so I do think you can do better. Who are the flights with and from where? Might help someone give a more informed answer. We all evolve - get on with it0

Here are a few villa sites that would let you compare prices in the same area as your friend's villa.

Hi, thanks for the replys. Sorry for being so vague! One of the flights were with 'My Travel' at just over £2600, and they did a fly drive for just over £2800, the other was a flydrive with virgin and this was just over £3000, they were all flying from Manchester. I am not sure about the location of the villa but will check that out and will have a look at the vill sites that Chris25 has provided. This would be our first time in Florida so really haven't got a clue so thanks again for your advice.0

Hi,
I've booked for Florida next year using http://www.kenwoodtravel.com/ previously recommended on MSE, staying at Bahama Bay.
They were also very helpful, flying from Man with Virgin and cheaper than TCD. Cheers.0
