Pipex Problems

  • You think you've got problem, I migrated away from Pipex in february and they're still billing me!!!! It's a nightmare! I can't get rid of them. They've just issued me another MAC! I don't want a MAC for a non-existant service I want my money back and for them to stop billing me!!!!

If you're on DD then you can tell your bank to cancel it and tell them not to allow Poopex to set up any more DD's or let them take any more money. I'm paying by credit card and you can't cancel a CC regular payment.

Complain to ISPA. I have. It might make they sit up and take notice.

WARNING: Do NOT, under any circumstances, sign up to Pipex if you value your sanity.
Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.
  • please CALL them - it WILL get sorted out as its the big cheeses office

Writing is good, but its embarassing for people to be calling the gaffers number to get stuff sorted out

If you are charged by direct debit, why not contact your bank to get your money back?! You should be protected by DD garantee sheme.

I was thinking about claiming an indemnity on the mone, but I have written them a letter and will await the result of that, see if they refund the money! I'll give them this month, then if they havent i'll claim it back! I assume I can claim it after a month? If not, i might have to make a speedier recovery!

I know mate, they're so cheeky, its unreal! Thats what gets me more than anything, the cheek of the devils!

they seem to think they're just entitled to your money, without even providing a service! They were doing this to my mother a while back, but i've made her switch now so she gets far cheaper calls! they really are ridiculous! Thanks for the link too, i'll check them out, as well as ofcom! I shall most definitely not be going with Pipex next year! I know they're all pretty bad, but these cowboys are going to be avoided at all costs!!!!!

  • A few people may know of my disdain for Pipex on these pages. Well, I hate them, and now, I have more reasons to hate them.

Firstly I was promised 2 free months back in January, which I still havent had, and this month was charged £6.50, ON TOP of my monthly payment, for unknown services. When I queried this, they had no idea what this payment was for, and could not even audit it cos the only payment shown is the £14.99 monthly charge.

I am sending a letter to them with my statement for proof of this in a hope to receive a refund (not too hopeful though) but does anyone have a web page/phone number of a company I can ring/email to get advice on all my problems with them? I would like to find out about the legalities of them taking this money without my authorisation but dont want to get in contact with a solicitor as it'll probably cost me more that £6.50!!! ;)

I'm sure i've seen mention of an independent company who look into broadband cowboys, and would really appreciate it if someone knew of this , or anywhere else I can get in touch with someone to find out if what they're doin is legal and proffessional!!

    I agree Pipex are bad.
Last June i signed up for the middle package which was 8MB with a small download limit and 3000 anytime minutes for £22.49 a month.
Firstly they mucked me about from pillar to post but i got a few free months out of them, they they said i was downloading too much and they was gonna charge me so i said i would go onto the Max with unlimited downloads and as many minutes as i liked a month for £27.49. I thought great i can download what i like and ring whoever i like.
Hmmm not that easy cos even though they offered me the deal they couldnt actually provide it :rotfl:
So after alot of wrangling i finished up on the Max deal with 3000 anytime minutes for £19.99 a month so even better that what i started off with although alot of crap to get there!
Just before i signed up i got my mum on the lowest package of £14.99 with 500 anytime minutes. The past few months they've been charging her less than a tenner a month so she's well happy.
Im seriously thinking of changing next month when the contract is up but those 3000 minutes are a good deal.
Oh even better was Bt and AOL when i first moved here 3 years ago. I was on AOL's 1MB line but wanted to upgrade to the 2MB line when i moved here. I used BT's own line check and it said 2MB was ok. So i upgraded online but was then told i couldnt get it. AOL said BT said it wasnt possible and BT said it was AOL's fault. Best part was BT and AOL both said i was too far away from the exchange but soon changed they're tune when i told them i could the exchange from my frontroom window :rotfl:
Finally it took 2 very nice ladies from each company to talk to eachother to get it sorted.
As they say its good to talk :rotfl:
Always looking for a bargain and to help
