Keep getting called by an 0800 number (merged)

I got a call from this number, googled it and got this thread too..

Im on Orange but have only had the number connected for about 3 days as it is a new contract... strange.

I wont answer if they try again!! Cheers

Has anyone else received these calls?

This has happened on numerous occasions over the past few weeks. When it rings, I answer and there is no response... Has nyone else had these calls?

Appearently when looking on google, people say it is a company called RHL (Response Handling Limited).

If anyone has any clues to the source of this number I would love to write to the company involved and give them a damn good thrashing!!!

A similar thing happened to me a while ago. It turns out that I had put my mobile number on a website asking me to complete surveys etc. It was a similar company trying to call me but their auto dialler was playing up.

I called the number and politely asked the operator to remove my number from their system, I received no more calls.

As it's a freephone number I suggest you do the same.

Unfortunately, when you call the number it is an automated message from response handling limited...

It's after midnight, or I'd do it myself and post the findings here.

Between 08:00 and 00:00 log onto the Companies House Website and enter "Response Handling Limited" into the search box. It should bring up the name and address of the company in question.

I withheld my ID and called the 08000 number back and got a warning message from Orange saying I would be charged for calling, so just ignore the calls I suppose.

Just got a call from the exact same number, and as I think has been mentioned before its a company called LBM calling on behalf of O2 (in my instance). It's a tele-marketing call and I think I threw the guy a little when I heard him out, told him I was happy with my current contract, thanked him for the call and then hung up. It's easy to get hacked off with these people but I imagine you're a lot less likely to get flagged on their system if you're one of the few people who are polite to them. If it's all random calls chosen by computers however then my idealistic post goes out the window somewhat.

I got plaged by this but I was getting around 8 calls a day. I did wonder how i could program my phone to ignore them at the time.

I rang the number from a LL as its a freephone number, and spoke to a woman who agreed to take my number off their system and that was the last I heard of the matter.

I wouldn't have minded so much if they took the trouble to speak to you when you answere but it was an automated dialler and it just kept hanging up.
