Keep getting called by an 0800 number (merged)

Thankyou for that Gary.
So, if someone gets fed up with your calls, can they ask you not to call them again? And when asked, will you stop calling them?0 -

I keep getting calls on my Orange Mobile from 08000641087 and when I answer they just hang up on me! I'm getting between 2 and 3 calls a day now and it's beginning to drive me round the bend! Who are these people and what do they want? I'm very reluctant to call them back as I don't know if it's some kind of scam or it'll make matters worse because I have called back...
I have tried to google the number but nothing came back.
Suggestions anyone?
Thanks
Kerry

and looking for the phone number that called you. If you find it, click on the little magnifying glass at the beginning of the line that the phone number is on, and you will get information about the company that the number belongs to. Once you know the number and company, you can go to:

and register a complaint.0 -

... I have also since registered our telephone number with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) online www.tpsonline.org.uk and also with Silent Callguard Service by calling 0870 4443969 which will help to block most of these calls in future. I'll update you on the outcome.:j
For anyone who wants to register with Silent CallGard, there is a Freephone number and a website you can use to not have to pay for the 0870 number:
Freephone: 0800 0831 138
URL: http://www.ukdatait.co.uk/cgi-bin/sgAddNumber.cgi
Keep in mind also that while you don't have to re-register a home phone number with TPS, ever (and only every 5 years for corporate numbers), Silent CallGard requires that you re-register every 12 months.
It's also handy to know that Silent CallGard is actually a service for companies who use autodiallers, to help them avoid getting fined for doing exactly what you're trying to get them to stop doing!
Hope this was helpful to someone!
Dat (passing along what I've dug up) Little Phish0 -
have just registered with TPS as well
thankswins so far:- absolutely nothing, not even an arguement:mad:0 -
Register your phone for TPS
once you register for telephone preferance service they are not allowed to call you for sales or marketing purposes. they can get into big trouble if they do.
Take a month to stop the calls but just quote that you have signed up and they usually take the numbers off straight away.
There was a time in our office where our all our company mobiles would go off one after another but we have stoped that now."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -
Well I sent an email to RHL as previous post, not had a response from them as requested, did get one further call from that number later on that evening but then nothing at all today so either it has worked or they're just leaving it for a few days.:T0

Response Handling Ltd again. I registered with TPS over a year ago - have just checked my registration after receiving a silent call from RHL. I have now also just registered with Silent Call Guard (thanks to Just Say No to 0870 for the 0800 number - 0831138)
My point is this: if I am a long standing registrant with TPS, why did RHL call me?0 -
These idiots keep phoning me aswell. Not answering though.0

Grrr and me. Haven't answered yet though but I am going to and if I get a human being am going to do the whistle trick! Anyone know if poundland sell whistles?!0
