This is a very easy to use router, I have two and very happy.
Ideal for cable customers as it does not have a modem (pls note)

Thanks for this - just reserved one myself.
Used a Linksys 802.11b for ages - but when looking for a 802.11g recently I read up and everyone recommended the Belkin. Just been waiting for the price to drop below £40.0 -
I've had one of these for years and installed one for my parents last year. Very good basic router, easy to setup (once you have sorted out NTL!) and just does what it says on the tin. Highly recommended.

Hi, I would love to go wireless, but am not too hot on computer technology. I have a laptop Sharp Actius PC FS2518. Now if I bought one of these units would I need to buy anything else? I am with Telewest Broadband. It certainly is a good price!SallyD0

As a student I know a lot of houses which have got wireless routers, many can barely get a signal when you start getting over a room away which can cause many problems, but this router is excellent - we have it in our house and can get signal of excellent on 3rd floor with only a cheap recieving card.
I strongly reccomend this router and it has best strength signal of any router i have seen.0 -
Have just bought the acer 4021 centrino from Tescos. We're on NTL broadband (cable) so is this router the correct one to get?

Yes it is. You should plug the ethernet cable from your cable modem or set top box into this. Although for the initial router config you will need to connect to it directly from your computer via a wired ethernet connection. I've checked that Acer model and it should have a wired ethernet port so I'd doubt you would have a problem. Also from what I remember it comes with very simple and clear instructions on how to do this.
Cheers

Unless your laptops are already wireless capable (a lot of new ones are now) then you'll also need a wireless card to go in the PCMCIA slot or a USB adaptor to plug in a USB port.
(Sorry couldn't find them on pcworld site, though they must sell them)
If you need either of these, do a search as I'm sure you could find them cheaper than argos."Now to trolling as a concept. .... As premier said if your laptop doesn't have wireless, I've just done a quick search on that model and I don't think it does, then you'll need a pcmcia or usb wireless adapter. I'd prefer the pcmcia as even though it sticks out a bit I think I'd be knocking the usb one out all the time if using it on the sofa.
Cheers

Edit : Also those ones found by premier look like good value for a known brand that also matches the routers manufacturer. I've used a Belkin PCI wireless card and it was very good too.0 -
I've been looking at going wireless for months but connecting up seems to be a dark art!
Does anyone know whether this will work with a BTVoyager105 USB ADSL Modem ?
Many thanks0 -

I don't think that modem has an ethernet out port only USB? The Belkin only takes an ethernet port as its input, not USB. Therefore I don't think it will work.
