I had the powering down problems too

(link removed as it causing me more problems now than before) is a link that I found useful
I upgraded the firmware and as far as I can see it has been ok

    Hope this helps

Please ignore it just crashed again

See earlier posts on the same topic. I exchanged mine at PC World and the new one seems OK. I think Belkin may have a batch of faulty ones with the depowering problem. Also Belkin don't have the best customer service in the world. called them up twice with the depowering problems; they gave me a reference no. both times with a promise that somebody from their technical staff will call back. No such luck though. In any case the replacement works.
