  • I've had a word with my 16 year old as to whether she'll get bored with us for 2 weeks
Her answer was......."Mum are there shops? Is there a pool?"
To which the answer was affirmative.
Reply was......"Well there you go then....how could I be bored"

  • Ok I've found a virgin direct flight from Gatwick for £433.40......is that good??
Seems like it to me but hell what do I know.
I'm going to go for one of 4 hotels.Imperial Palace,Excalibur(though I think it may be a little childish) Flamingo or Luxor.
I've signed up for promotions in all....I'm just waiting now to see if I can better the price on line before ringing for a price match
    Thanks to all who helped

It's not great, but it's not horrible...we saw £312.50 for November and snapped it up in December...it really depends on whether it's worth it to you to fly direct (it is for us, but for others it's not)...we have paid as much as £490 for direct flights from Gatwick...though if you're coming from the Manchester area, depending on how much faffing you have to do to get to Gatwick in the first place it may net off a bit of the savings.

Good luck on your hotel search and just keep checking back over the months to see if any better deals are available. :)

you know, thinking about it...you may want to check with the hotels on whether or not an under-18 can be in the pool area without a parent/guardian with them...I'm honestly not sure what the policy normally is....just thinking that if your daughter is planning to spend a lot of time at the pool when you're not around, would be worth checking on.

    The flight price seems ok.

Shopping is great in Vegas so your daughter will love that. If i was staying in vegas for two weeks I would split my time and stay in a couple of different hotels but if you only want 1 then I would go for the Flamingo (out of your 4) as it is nearly the best pool in Vegas (IMO the best is Manadaly Bay).
If your daughter wants to stay round the pool, dont forget you can only use the pool at the hotel you are staying at, and like a previous poster said check that an under 18 can stay by themselves.

The Flamingo is also the best situated out of the four you have chosen and is a lot better than the IP you are also right on the strip (view wise) whereas the IP is set back.

If you book direct with the hotel and keep an eye out on Lasvegastalk and fatwallet you are almost gaurenteed to find some deals withing the last few weeks before you go so you can always change your booking.

Anyway hope you get what you want and these are only my opinions.

That won't be an issue......I would never leave her alone in a strange country........She's a good looking girl even if I do say so myself and although she's sensible she's not street wise. You can't trust anyone these days so no she won't be left alone one of us will always be with her........but thanks for the tip anyway

great! one last thing annd then I will shut up...if you're looking at the later dates in your range, double check the pools as some do close late October.

  • Hotels.com seem to have some ridiculous prices at the moment, can anyone confirm that these prices are correct. I am searching for a week 28th May to 4th June and im being quoted MGM Grand £25 per night, Ceasars Palace £29 per night, are these prices correct?

    Thanks in advance

Dont know if they are correct but if that is per room and you want to go then book it. That is a great price for either hotel

Oh yes they are screwed at the moment aren't they.

Just booked two nights at the Wynn for a panaramic view room for £47 per night for 18 July. Just the ticket. Id say book it while you can before they notice. It has to be a mistake.
