Forgot to say that flight was from Manchester....would I get a better deal from London:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0

flights for October will be cheaper than now i would susupect as it is not as popular a time.
i remember a thread from a while back in which a poster ended up paying £600 each with connection and 6 hour wait at Minnesota only to find that Virgin dropped their prices to £300 about a month before they went.sure it was Sept Oct they went
Virgin in particular and prices in general seem to be a lot more expensive than last year. this maybe due to a few things. 1) Greedy gordons grab tax. 2) £-$ value meaning more travellers taking advantage.
i am now resigned to the fact that a direct Virgin or BMI flight may be too expensive for my budget this year( i.e £500 each for 7 nights). unless i see some downward movement soon i,m going to have to look at a indirect because at least you have some choice / comp to keep the price down.
That said i may be able to turn this to my advantage. if i fly with Virgin i will proably stay at Gatwick night before as i live in the midlands and flight departs 10 am.
Flying for example with Delta via Atlanta out of Manchester ( departure noon so need to stay over) i could hopefully stop over in Atlanta getting a good cheap hotel in Georgia thanks to $ weakness , for a nice short flight onto to Vegas the next day.My limit is £1800 for myself, husband and 16 year old daughter including the flights
for a two week 2 room stay this is a tight budget espically if a convention is on on your dates
. estimate £300 flight each with searching . leaving £900 for 14 nights 2 rooms. on the strip, i think Circus Circus may be about your limit unless you can find a great deal at a anthor cheap casino (excalliber, rivera, or sahara). keep tabs and the hotel deals that appear on https://www.lasvegastalk.com and http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7835.
keep your eyes on the newspaper weekend travel suppliments for good IT deals and also try calling https://www.trailfinders.co.ukcan it be done???
probably but your hotel won,t be the classiest
.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Just got back yesterday from vegas and personally i wouldn't go further than the frontier...which is near the wynn..I stayed at circus circus and was mugged over the road from the hotel...I wouldn't stray further than frontier in my opinion if anyones looking at the startosphere or circus circus..it gets more dodgey past circus circus...if you can afford to stay nearer to the wynn end...0

TangoBunny wrote:I don't mind flights with 1 stop and they are coming out at around £350 each actually with opodo it was £1,052.70 for the 3 flights
that leaves me with £800 for 3 of us for 14 days.....can it be done???
I think it can be done easily if the three of you will be in one room (if you are wanting 2 rooms, it might not be so doable)...the current room rates available from the hotels will likely be much higher than they will be closer to the dates you are looking at...if you assume £800 = about $1500 that would be about $108 average per night...I would be absolutely stunned if you couldn't find a decent hotel for that price IF you book direct with the hotels.
If it were me, I would book flights now (or as soon as you see fares you are happy with) and keep an eye on hotels....as has been said before, if you book directly with the hotel, they will only take the first night's charge as a deposit now, and you can cancel if you find something better (so they will refund your deposit)...go to the individual hotel websites and sign up for their special offers.
As you will have a 16-year-old with you, I would think that Excalibur might be a good option as Baz suggests....there's quite a bit there and near there for under 21s to do.
And I think it has been mentioned here before, but if not - if you plan to gamble at all, sign up for the players clubs (it's free) and use your card...at the end of your stay, ask if you are entitled to anything off your room charges...it can't hurt to ask - all they can say is no.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
have just booked the aladdin deal from the 25th april got email confirmation but still worried about the players card any one going before this date please let me know how you get on0

Ok thanks for all the great advice.I've done Diy many times but doing it to the US scares the pants off me
I'm going to wait a wee while and see if the prices come down a bit although I doubt I'm going to get cheaper flights. The 1 stop doesn't bother me as it's only a 2 hour one
I really like the look of the IP and yes we will be sharing as there is no way I would leave my 16 year old on her own in a room(she aint streetwise)
I'm going to sign up for all the popular hotels offers and see what comes up....as you all say there is no problem if I want to cancel for a better deal.
At the moment I'm quite taken with the IP so I'll stick to that one for now:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -
