doodle_bug wrote:If paying by credit card make sure it is a Nationwide card, there are no fees at all and you get the exact exchage rate when you make the transaction. For getting cash use a Nationwide flex account card, again no fees or commission. It is better to get your cash $$$ in the USA using the Nationwide flex account card. If you dont have a Nationwide card apply for one and you'll get 0% on purchases for 9 months, I got one last year just before my trip to Vegas and put everthing on it, just had to pay it off this week as the 0% came to an end.0

thanks i will open accounts before we go0

I have also read that if paying by credit card - if you are give the option to pay in $$ or ££ (have only had this happen in department stores when paying for purchases) - choose $$ as the exchange rate will likely be more favorable than choosing ££.
As for the cash side of things, the Nationwide flex account has a £300/day withdrawal limit which may work for some people but may not be enough for others...we bring some cash with us to get us started and then withdraw as needed.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Anyone know the best way to get cheap flights within USA to Las vegas. We want to fly from indiannapolis to las vegas on 6 May and back on the 11th (flying home to Uk on 12th). Any links to money off sites, or cheap flight sites?
Thanks0 -

Try https://www.southwest.com
or just the usual Expedia/opdo etc.0 -
I have went to vegas 4 times now for flights (im going from belfast) i mainly use Virgin and use miles plus money. We got flights in nov 06 for 280 per person out of gatwick then had to ad in my flight from belfast £40 per person. I did do continenal Belfast - NY - Las Vegas not as good as virgin in my opinion.
As for hotels we always book direct with the hotel. If you do this keep an eye on the price for each day if it goes down E-mail the hotel and they will change the price to the lower one. Saved about £100 by doing this with Excalibur. We have also stayed in the aladdin, Bellagio (Got Married there) and Luxor.
And always ask for an upgrade. We got a upgrade in the aladdin last year to a strip view room was ment to cost $40 per night for 8 nights, we got it for $30 tip.0 -
