"Like the disciple (doubting) Thomas, I like to do my own research. No disrespect to @oldagetraveller1, but I also asked E.ON Next and received the following response in 7 minutes!"It's always good to be a "Thomas" sometimes. Thanks for the further confirmation from Eon.I'm fairly sure they are obliged to offer a cheaper tariff, if one is available at a later date.I think I will opt for V4 after seeing further confirmation of no exit penalty if switching within Eon.

I think the advice given by E,On Next customer service is hugely variable. I had a very frustrating hour on the phone this morning (and it was the best part of an hour, only necessary at all because I sent an email 48 hours ago which I had no response to) and admittedly the main part of the call was about a different point but I asked whether I could end my more expensive Next Online v15 tariff 25 days early on July 1st and go on to Next Loyalty Fixed v4 on that date. I was told that no, this was not possible, the existing fix had to run its time. I could go on to Next Flex but not the new fixed tariff, and although I suppose I could have gone on to Next Flex and then initiated a transfer to the new fix, the catch might have been that it would no longer be available to me, as they aren't offering it to everyone. In the end I'm resigned to paying the higher prices until July 25th, and maybe it will work out to my advantage at the other end a year from now, but I'm still wondering if a different rep would have done what I requested.

E.ON Next
Hi,
I have just taken out a 1 year fixed rate deal, Next Loyalty Fixed v4. I notice that there would be an exit fee of £75 to change to a different supplier before the tariff end date.
However, would I incur any fee if I wished to switch to another E.ON Next tariff before the end date?
Kind regards,
RG2015
Whereas another MSEr I believe posted that Octopus have said their fee applies even for internal switches.
Its an important distinction, which is why the questions have been being asked in this v4 post and other EOn legacy version posts.0 -
Hi
I also contacted EON to confirm that fees don't apply when switching tariff internally. They confirmed that this was the case so signed up just now.
Thanks to the OP for the heads up.
Cheers1 -
Should we still all get our own personal confirmation on this? Or could we rely on now 3 instances of it being confirmed? How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0

Since the last Cornwall Insight forecast wholesale prices have firmed up, even if the rises for Q4 and Q1 next year have not been as sharp as the short term rates. I wouldn't be surprised if CI's next update shows a modest increase from their previous forecast. Both So Energy and British Gas pulled their fixed tariffs which were roughly the same as the July SVR, and Octopus have a fix which is slightly higher. I had been dithering about this, almost decided to accept v3 and when I logged in to my account on Wednesday to see v4 I naturally assumed it would be an increase on the previous one, so it was a real surprise and given the way things seem to be going I think this could turn out to be a good deal.
And further to my post above, saying I'd been told on the phone this morning I couldn't change the start date to July 1st from the 25th (which is when my present fix ends) I have just received a reply to my email sent Wednesday which I assumed was lost, and this says yes we can do this, no problem. So I've said please do, and this just goes to show how it's a matter of luck as to whether you get a good customer service rep or a succession of three dippy people I was passed between this morning, who seemed to know less about their job than I did.3 -
My daughter works for Ovo and says I will know far more about domestic energy supplies than anyone at E.ON customer services. And she is even more disparaging about Ovo’s helpdesk!0

Or Switch to EOn Next Flex SVT first for free - then Switch supplier.

Its an important distinction, which is why the questions have been being asked in this v4 post and other EOn legacy version posts.Be careful what I said was "switch supplier".I said that specifically - because at the moment anyway - the EOn Loyalty V1 to V4 series of fixes seem to only being offered to some people - and from what I can tell from posts I have read - only those on an actual current fix.IIRC one person who came off a fix several weeks ago - onto SVT - posted he isn't being offered it for instance.Edit : Just read on another EOn thread the V4 appears to now be available on the online selection system for a couple of customers on the SVT - iirc including the source of the above. That to me seems a pretty abnormal situation compared to the way fixes operated before the crisis - and it may change - but the remaining suppliers seem to be taking the whole fix thing tentatively.Octopus for instance - who have a reputation for value - recently launched a fix that is from memory slightly more expensive than the equivalent SVT come July - and as above - thats a full £75 per fuel lock in - internal or external transfer.0 -
I've just pressed the button to go with Loyalty V4, which was available once (eventually) logged in. I hadn't had an email about it.
We were out of fix (ran out mid-April) and have been on the SVT since then.
It only gave the option to switch from 1st July, but that's only a few days away now, so no biggy.
