Hello CFO's
Keep wanting to type UFO for some reason!
Hope everyone is feeling better, no more coughs or wonky donkeys out there?
Todays efforts:
The usual with the porridge
Tuna mix sandwiches on wholemeal (light) bread mix is: small tin of tuna in brine, drained, light salad cream, small handful of frozen sweetcorn (cooked first!) and finely chopped onion or spring onion depending what's in, stir altogether, season. Plop onto your bread or crispbreads, etc. Very tasty and depending on how much you add makes a small tin of tuna stretch further (unless you are hungry and decide to eat the lot, it will keep in the fridge a few days.) Followed by YS nectarine, wizened tangerine and apple!
Tea will be something dragged out the depths of the freezer, with more of the YS kale, maybe mash too.
Bit worried about the little dog, she had high readings on a liver function test (something about too many enzymes in her blood count). Please keep your fingers crossed all, I really, really hope it's nothing sinister, as I would feel really lost without her....:("...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

I was up most of the night worrying about possible wind damage and didn't fancy getting myself a proper breakfast this morning so resorted to some biscuits with a coffee for breakfast. By about 9.00am the winds had died down and I fell asleep on the sofa.
I woke up at 11.30am starving hungry so decided to have my main meal then as an early lunch. I did some lightly dusted haddock, mash and peas and then had some cheesecake for pudding.
This evening I shall just have some cheese and biscuits and maybe a crumpet.
Nothing needing using up still, I'm really pleased about that.

Afternoon all, I hope everyone still has a roof, shed, fence and wheelie bins left
Woken in the night by the hoolie blowing, but by the morning it was sunny & blue sky
Into town, just to get outside really, and on prowl for dinner ideas. None spotted
The God of tinned bangers & beans is looking down on us. For anyone interested in this CFO standby, As4a have Heinz on offer at 50p a tin, around a quid elsewhere. I got one with beans & one with spag. I didn't fancy the ravioli, used to like it years back but not now
Plus the W/r prowl found Berto££i olive oil spread at 95p, just in time, my yellow spreading stuff was running low
Back to lunch of BF ham & salady sarnie
Made a litre of yoghurt, then scoffed remainder of yog starter with honey
Dinner is looking like use up time. The lurking parsnip, plus it's ginger cousin lurking carrot and last of the Christmas cauli will be roasted. I've taken some of the LO Christmas turkey slices out to thaw, and maybe make some stuffing.
An early 2018 Christmas dinner here, especially if I add in a couple of the last 6 mince pies
My web site is on the mend, I can only assume it was hacked, passwords changed and getting ready to upload afresh some time later today
Money, good news on the electrics it seems, a bit of a haul but a good result eventuallyEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Breakfast was: 1 piece of toast, 1 scrambled egg, splash of the brown stuff.
Lunch was: 1 jacket spud, 1/3rd tin of beans, grated cheddar.
That's pretty much "enough" for today .... but there might be some random digestives scoffed later.0 -
Bit worried about the little dog, she had high readings on a liver function test (something about too many enzymes in her blood count). Please keep your fingers crossed all, I really, really hope it's nothing sinister, as I would feel really lost without her....:(
Aw, fingers crossed for her.xxx0 -
I don't tend to do snacks - but bytheheck it's SO cold out there and maybe that's the difference (as I've been out in it for a while and sitting around freezing my !!!! off at voluntary work.
Hence starving for some reason - and given way to the urge to get some toast and nut butter.
Then must get dinner going - reckon I'll try that ratatouille with feta cheese scattered on top. Perhaps with couscous.
Am trying not to think about the fact that I should be going out tonight again - when it will probably be even colder. But it is an "important" thing and I really ought to be at it. Shivers at thought....needs must when "duty calls" and the chance maybe to "do summat useful" - and I can see where there could well "be a slot with my name on it". I think it will help if I "bribe myself" by promising myself that, if the bar is open there, then I shall treat myself to a brandy.
You're allowed to call me a "Soft Southerner" LOL......0 -
Irenadler - hope all is well with your little dog:grouphug:
I work in the coldest spot in our store and I have fingerless gloves, though this year they provided touchscreen gloves so we could use the till, I have to say the fingerless are warmer. My hubby used to laugh at me getting undressed as I peeled off layer after layer. 5 layers today and that's inside!!!
No break today so already eaten tea, salmon fillet, potato and spinach gratin, peas and butternut squash, had a blob of garlic mayo on the fish as I've run out of tartare sauce. I've also run out of custard that I've been having with the hm ginger cake, so I had to open a carton of Elmlea cream to go on my warmed ginger cake .:jFocus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
Irenadler, I am thinking about you and your little dog
I went to a very hilly market town today, watching oldies haul themselves up the streets a few steps at a time and quickly thought, well I am crossing this place of my watch to buy list. Ok yes they must get fit but I bet many don`t ever go to the shops in case they don`t make the very steep pavements. I liked all the old style shops though, its an artisan place
So I have been reading about insomnia or waking in the night and I am going to try an oatcake and some peanut butter a couple of hours before bed. I daren`t leave it any later, my stomach would not like it when lying down. Last meal is a rm, turkey/bean casserole and a strip of peasant ciabatta in the bottom of the bowl
I am avoiding all cake except a small piece of parkin a day. I need to lose my christmas weight0 -

Ventured out in garden this afternoon as the Sun came out. Really upset to find new greenhouse has taken a hammering in the wind. Frame bent anddoor hanging loose. Have text my lovely man to bring his toolbox this weekend. Lol Steak and chips if he fixes it bread and water if he cant.
No other real damage just a few containers blown over .Slimming World at target0
