Good morning,
After a wild couple of days it is very calm here this morning though still bitterly cold. Thankfully we have missed the snow again:). If it isn't too icy underfoot I might manage to get out:).
Spag bol tonight for dinner, lunch I think will be eggs some way.0 -
It's very calm here too after the storm last night.
I just had a yoghurt and a toasted muffin.
I made a veggie curry with rice last night and have a bowl of leftovers in the fridge today.
I fancy having loaded potato skins as I didn't have the potatoes yesterday. I might look on Pinterest.0 -
Pn- don't you have slippers? I find just having thick/slipper socks on I have cold feet, whereas slippers with a proper dole keep my feet warmer on my laminate floors.
Yesterday, after toast ,cheese spread later than usual, I just had yeo vanilla yogurt, with a kiwi, seeds and dried cranberries for lunch. I needed tea early as I was going to yoga, so had pasta with onions peppers and mushrooms, with chilli sauce and cheese, NO garlic bread!!;)
Went to the quiz after yoga so a packet of crisp with 2 bottles of wine shared between 3 of us.
Then another pack of crisp when I got home while reading in bed.
Just had toast, I'm taking the lo pasta with me to work to eat before I start.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -

I also sit with my feet up on the sofa, covered by a throw to keep them warm.
I've turned the heating on today and just had a hot bath. It's 60° in here right now and I'm warm0 -
One of my favourite (and very :money:) buys last winter was a pair of fleecy slipper boots for £6 from Tesco F&F sale. They are super cosy and seldom off my feet indoors in the winter, I find if I can keep my feet warm I'm warm whereas if they get cold I can have loads of clothes and the heating on a still feel chilly!0

I find slippers help a lot. I'm used to wearing them at home anyway. There are concrete floors in current house and I certainly find them colder than wood plank ones. So the carpets have the thickest underlay I could get underneath them and I've found a brand of genuine comfortably-lined slippers (Sorel) on Amazon and they're proving very cosy so far. Ahem...but they're not cheap I do know (about £40 as I recall).
But - one cheap thing to help with "body covering" is a pair of those fingerless gloves that were "the thing" a while back. I kept a couple of pairs of them (wrist length and elbow length) back from my years of standing in the cold handing out leaflets or petitions to sign to people. They do help.
I've got in a selection of throws and a cheapie single duvet (ie Arg*s) that are available for putting over myself/other people if need be. Hot drinks at intervals help too.
Come to think of it - think I might look out those fingerless gloves - some of my current voluntary work is also "cold work". The premises I'm in doesnt have central heating - so I've made sure it has supplementary heating and stays well-stocked with hot drinks - but I still find it rather cold in the winter....
EDIT; Duly done and found I've got 3 pairs of fingerless gloves. Laugh for the day - how can you tell someone who is or was a "political animal" - check for fingerless gloves, thermal underwear and warm boots? (yep...got the lot LOL). If their mobile phone ISN'T an Iphone (ie location available) - game/set/match...0 -

I like slipper boots too.:)
I'm the same way with cold feet, I just went upstairs to put my socks on, in fact.2025 GOALS

Oh my word it's bitter and raw out, my face was numb when I came back from trundling round the block! That said it's much better day weatherwise than it has been. I wasn't hungry earlier so no breakfast - a decent warm lunch is needed. I've a few bits of spud LO so think a frittata might be just the thing:).0

Now with me it's a question of keeping my arms warm. If the arms are warm, so is the rest of me. So most of the time I just add a cardigan to the outfit. If it is really cold I have a couple of what Marks called cardigowns - basically a fleecy jacket.0
