Caronc- it was a bit hairy on the minor roads coming back as it had hailstone a few times,so was slippy. It was worth it we had a good chat, a glass of prosecco some crisp ,a couple of cups of tea and a flake!!!
I've also watched the 1st house in time ,need to watch the 2nd one. Though I'm going to watch silent witness this afternoon, don't like to watch on my own at night
I've got yoga and the quiz tonight, I'm thinking veggie pasta for tea, with enough for tomorrow lunch before work.
I'm not a mince eater, I used to pick the meat out of a meat and potato pie!:rotfl: I only eat beef as in steak or roast. I eat chicken and fish. I don't eat pork, lamb, or gammon, liver etc. Though I did when I was young at home, having said that I eat much more spicy things, we never heard of curry or chinese food in our home. It was all standard English food, growing up in the sixties and seventies. I do eat all veggies and salad, though.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
I stepped on the scales today and have lost another 1 lb. Quite happy with that. I'm wondering if that stupid medication was making me retain water or something before.
It's actually sunny here today which has cheered me up.
I have only had a glass of water with aloe vera juice and an apple so far today.
I made a lovely, thick veggie soup last night. I have a bowl left to have today at some point along with some wholemeal rolls.
I'm not sure what to have for breakfast yet... I slept in late for me so I haven't even had a shower yet.:o:D0 -
Morning All
Another bright sunny day here, thankfully our little corner of the map is missing out on the snow but its f,f,f,freezing out there and an icy wind that chills to the bone. I've been keeping my walks shorter than usual so unless the wind drops or it warms up a bit I may have to resort to walking my way around all the department stores in town
I've had a cold meat sandwich for breakfast, stuff needed using, I'll have soup for lunch and I've swapped evening meals around, I forgot I would be later getting back today and wanted something that I could do quickly, so the sweet and sour pork just needs to be nuked and I'll steam broccoli and boil some rice to go with it.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

... ''there's no time like the present'' ...
What sort of new place do you have in mind? Downsizing? More modern? Different town/county? What're you changing between what you've got and what you want?
I'd move except being at the bottom end of the market there's little that's "better" so to speak.... and would I be moving to find new annoyances elsewhere...0 -
It's cold here today. I've just peeled the spuds and put them into the magic box to cook... but I can't feel my feet or my hands, so hoping to warm up with a coffee before I have to go back when it pings and move the spuds around a bit before putting on for some more minutes.
Good job I don't have to stand in the cold kitchen waiting for things to cook, just turn a knob and run off to get under a blanket until I hear a ping!0 -
So far I have had an almond milk/blueberry smoothie and two toasted English muffins with marg.
I will warm up the soup later.
I might have jacket spuds with baked beans tonight.PasturesNew wrote: »It's cold here today. No. I have thick socks on, a big fleece jacket and I sit under a blanket most of the winter
PN - don't you have any heating?

I only have it on when it's absolutely necessary. So when it's "super cold" it'll go on for 2-3 hours/day max.
Our economy 7 heaters broke in the really snowy winter (2010?) and we didn't have any savings in those days. The only thing that warms me up is hot water bottles and hot drinks. I usually feel better if I change my clothes when I get home if I have been out in the cold air.
Even though we had the heaters fixed it is still carpy heating in this house. I sometimes wear a fleecy x-large men's dressing gown in the evenings over what I'm wearing.:p2025 GOALS

This cold weather is sure making me hungry.
This morning I had porridge with berries and two slices of toast. Then mid morning a crumpet with butter, then a couple of chocolate biscuits later when I had a coffee.
Lunch time I had two tuna mayo sandwiches (as well as being hungry it used up the tin I opened yesterday), then a hot cross bun.
I'm already looking forward to my beef bourguignon for dinner. I'm going to have that with some mustard mash and steamed veg. I wouldn't be surprised if a crumble and custard didn't follow that sometime during the evening as well.
I always get like this in the cold weather.
