CCP - hope you start feeling better very soon and (if you see the doctor) he/she is helpful.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) A lie in!

    2) Eggy bread and blueberries for breakfast.

    3) Went to watch brother playing tennis at his club's open day (not as grand as it sounds). Smaller son's midwife was there (playing tennis), a mother of one of my friend's from primary school and the lady who was on the panel when school tried to exclude smaller son. So plenty of people to say hello too. Sons played hide and seek for hours and we had hot dogs for lunch from their barbeque.

    4) Went to play table tennis at mum and dad's and dad was immediately stung by 2 bees then another one tried to sting him. He went inside so the bee turned on my brother instead! The bee situation there is ridiculous - they've had so many swarms they've had to start off an extra 3 hives and they think one is out of their neighbour's hive.

    5) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    6) School friend came round for tea.

    7) One of smaller son's teeth fell out.

    In brief
    1. 2 loads of washing on the line
    2. usual Sunday lunch out, just had a shortbread and cup of tea
    3. afternoon on the help line, very productive
    4. lunchtime and evening meetings with friends
    5. gave a friend a lift home this evening, found out we have a lot in common (not least our love of Orwell :) )
    Sweet dreams :)

CCP hope that you get the meds you need, if so be it, and a professional listening ear.
Broomstick, thank you for celebrating me in chocolate. Happy to help. :D
    Mhags, thoughts.
    BoP Gutted for Gateshead. :(

    1. Pimms-a-like (Austin's from A!di and it's much nicer, too) in back garden with DD and dogs.
    2. DGS was able to finish his SATS. He loves writing but finds the mechanics difficult - I suspect some dysgraphia, knowing a bit about these things.
    3. Strawberry plant and flowers as gift from DD.
    4. £390 bike to review from Am@zon. DSoiL doing the practical aspects as he wanted a new bike.
    5. Passed on my Drizabone coat to DD. I bought it principally to go racing in and then Rummy got injured. DD will wear it to walk dogs. I couldn't cycle in it and it was heavy to wear. I haven't worn it for nearly a year. I have a new Jack Murphy coat on its way from equestrian suppliers via Am@zon

VickyA - £15?!!! What a bargain! Won't tell you what Rummy cost me, but it was more, more than that. Ditto Boo and Fatty.
I am 'ded jel' of you meeting jockey L.A. as txtspeak would have it... followed him for years. Followed most of them for years.
How many other people get followed by an ambulance every time they go to work? Jocks do.

Rummy won his third Championship. When I was on holiday, I discovered that one of the judges who placed him first in April was my holiday companion's uncle. Small world.

Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Hello, my main pleasure is having been at GP with my son, test results look okay but to go back in 2 weeks if necessary. We've all been very worried ( because of OH) so big sighs of relief and I'm glad my boy will still let his mammy give him a big hug.

Work all day, this is usually my early shift but had to swap. My boss popped in and kindly gave me a lift home.

    Pay day :)

Sausage casserole prepared before I went out to work and DD1 put it in the slow cooker after school. DS did the dishwasher on when he came in and DD2 emptied it.

Autumn leaves to scrunch through, stunning colours on trees, possums running along the wires, strange warm winds, kindness from colleagues , helpful children and masterchef on TV have made this a good Monday :)

Have a good day....I'm hoping for a decent sleep tonight....worries be gone!

So my chapter is still 700 words short -ccp can i borrow yours? ;-)

Of course you can, my friend, as long as I can borrow them back at some point in the future if needed!

mcculloch - I swear that horse gets better-looking every time I see him! :happyhear

    1) Another lousy night's sleep, but no work today so it wasn't quite as bad that I only managed to get my eyes to stay closed at about the time I'd usually get up!

    2) Managed to get an appointment with my GP for tomorrow, which is very impressive as, last time I wanted to see her, I had to wait three weeks for a gap in her diary.

    3) Lots of lovely yellow stuff so I walked up to the pet shop to get some more food for my great tit family, and had a nice chat with the girl behind the counter about our shared love of bunnies after she caught me admiring a little grey and white one.

    4) Managed another 800 words of essay - not as much as I'd hoped (I would have liked to have finished it today) but not bad when I've felt half-asleep all day.

    5) Out with friends tonight, at a quiz I don't usually go to but there's a £300 bonus prize so I've been strongly encouraged to go. Wish me luck!
Back after a very long break!

Yet again, was runner up for a teaching job :( It's all very well telling me I've got the makings of an excellent teacher....kind of means beggar all, if I'm obviously not good enough for you to employ me!!! Grrr. Feeling a bit miserable tonight, no matter what DD and my family say, I really wanted this one :(:(

    Anyway.....

    1. Sunshine

    2. Taught lovely lessons to lovely children

    3. I'm sitting in the study listening to the birds singing outside

    4. Looking forward to teaching French tomorrow

    5. Was home in time to take DD to and from Brownies

mcculloch29 - Yes, I'm reading AP's autobiography at the moment and he comments that he's followed round by 2 ambulances every time he works. Really good book, if you haven't read it. He was there yesterday, but I didn't disgrace myself by passing out. Really hoping that the syndicate can get another horse next year. Fair Bramble is being sold tomorrow morning at the Doncaster sales. :(

Kittikins - I know it's no consolation, but at least you're getting positive feedback. We're interviewing for a new teacher in my school. Fancy it? :D

    So, my pleasures for today:

    1) Took my class swimming and we go to the local army barracks. The chap on the gate always says "Good afternoon ma'am". Makes me feel wonderful! Who gets called that these days? Love the level of respect, as opposed to "alright love" which is the norm. Small things.... :rotfl:

    2) Stir fry for supper. Love these - healthy, quick; what's not to love?!

    3) New design for school website looks FANTASTIC! Really delighted with the first draft. Needs a little tweaking, but looking great!

    4) £13 pending on TopCashBack from DH's order for new shirts for work. :j :j

    5) Worked through a variety of jobs on my list. :j :j All small fiddly ones.

    Night all x

Kittikins - Are you in Kent?

Today has been a mixed bag of a day. Some highlights and some irritations. Lets focus on the highlights.

1 - Weighed in this morning. 1lb off!

2 - A great meeting with an employee today. Felt really positive after it.

3 - Helping a customer and getting into a chat about Scotland and how I'm finding things down here.

4 - Being chosen to do something at work that made me feel proud. Gutted that I can't actually go as I'm away.

5 - Jambalaya leftovers today which were still just as tasty.
