  • thanks both :)

I have had a lovely day, done some practice and finally figured out how to record stuff on GarageBand on my mac. So tomorrow I will pick some things and hopefully get them on my myspace page :j I didn't realise this was possible until music buddy mentioned it so am very grateful to her for the tip-off!

Am still very tense when I am practising so need to be careful about this otherwise I will end up injured again. But I am much more aware of how this happens now so hopefully can keep working on it.

The dog is on his cook/chill cycle of sunbathing/retreating under a bush to cool down. I have given him a good brush as he is STILL moulting  I can never believe how much fluff comes off him and he still has fur left on him :rotfl: But he seemed to enjoy it and even let me clean his ears. He was very clingy yesterday so hated leaving him to go to the concert but it's nice spending some proper time with him today.

I am off out soon (ridiculous train times into town) and having a what to wear crisis. Stupid as I have lots of lovely stuff. But I need to wear flats for the walk to/from the station and my fab jeans are very long so need heels  So will get my thinking cap on while I straighten my hair and watch the snooker for a bit longer.

Here's to lazy bank holiday weekends

  • Morning all :)

had a lovely night last night, swapping boy/gin chat with a very good friend. Had a very MSE trip to pizza express with a voucher, got the train in and home which cost £4.20, and friend bought the drinks at the pub after we'd eaten. My train back was quite early which was a shame, and the walk back from the station to my house was not fun - v dark and I felt quite vulnerable. Silly as not much goes on around where I live, but all the talk of bodies turning up lately has put the frighteners on a bit!

So if I am in town and coming home on my own I think I will need to budget for a cab :(

had a brave Freedom Saturday night (from the clothes challenge!) and wore some shoes and a frock I hadn't worn before. I was going to do black but then remembered the Be Flamboyant rule and went for it. Looked rather nice if I do say so myself :) and I will be brave again.

However, I wore some cheapy low heels from New Look and they were absolute torture! Worse than any skyscraping heels I have worn! Think they were a little big so rubbed as I tried to keep them on my feet  One of my friends had the same ones at a work do and warned me, to be honest I didn't believe her as they were so low, but now I really do!

So. had text chat with Mr P when I got back which was nice but not sure there will ever be more to it, so am only texting if he texts first. He knows where I am but I am not hanging around waiting :)

Today I plan to do more of the same as yesterday - practice, GarageBand, walk dog this evening, watch snooker. And I am feeling for a veg on the sofa with Princess Diaries 1 and 2 (very girlie but I DON'T CARE!).

Plus need to double check all my BT dates so I am back in control of all these - I know one is in June and think one is in July and another the end of the year. But want to be sure.

Dad has taken the downstairs loo out so I can get scrubbing down the walls ready for re-decorating. I will do some bargain hunting for a new one and a sink too. Also must do some tile removal from what will be the utility room. If I don't go to watch the bike racing with my dad tomorrow, I will have a trip to the tip.

No easter eggs here :( but I may crack later (boom boom!) and go to the garage and get some chocolate!

    Hi Lionheartedgirl

I feel your pain with the shoes, we never learn do we?

Its definitely worth budgetting for a taxi, I used to walk home after nights out in my much younger days and my Mum would give me a right telling off - its better to be safe and pay for a taxi.

No Easter eggs, we can't have that, have a virtual one :easter_ba
Hope you manage to have a lazy day xx

I'm glad you're enjoying the weekend, LHG. Let us know where on the internet we can hear your harp playing, won't you?

And, yes, budgeting for a cab back late at night is a must, not a luxury.

I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.

    flam·boy·ant

–adjective 1. strikingly bold or brilliant; showy: flamboyant colors.
    2. conspicuously dashing and colorful: the flamboyant idol of international society.
    3. florid; ornate; elaborately styled: flamboyant speeches.

I might give this a go. I want to improve (or should that be develop???) a bit of my BRILLIANT self at a time. Maybe I should make a list...
Glad to hear things are looking good for you :). Tis really new beginnings eh? Hope the social butterfly stuff kicks off soon :). Groupon has really shaped by social life lately, good for trying new things for cheapo prices.

Exciting news on the new/old instrument too :D
  • well, I have not done a lot today at all! But had a really really nice relaxing day :)

I did tackle the BT issue, and am really really glad I did as one I thought would end in July actually ran out last week  so was able to catch it before too much damage was done.

I signed up to Experian last week on their month free trial, just to check that all was OK with my credit report as I was so worried about things with ex. Fortunately everything was fine, and also checked my credit score which was very illuminating. Applied for a new 0% card and was accepted straight away which was good. But scary how I can do it all so easily, and even do an electronic signature  Can't wait until I am free of all this mess and having to chase around every few months to juggle balances.

Dog has been relatively low moult today which is good. However he is really starting to look fed up :( I feel like the time is coming and this is so sad. Will talk to ex tomorrow about it when he comes to collect him and get him to keep an eye, but somehow I suspect he will deny it. He had never had a dog before, and ours has always been so strong and healthy, it's easy to assume he will go on forever :(

On a happier note. I am having the mussels I bought from the farm shop the other week for my tea tonight, saved them for a treat. They are all prepared and just need dropping in a pan for a few mins.

I have so far resisted the mini egg run to the garage, but am planning a few chips with my mussels :D

I am sinking a GnT and watching Napoleon Dynamite, weird film but having been a bit of a social misfit as a kid, I get it :D

Hopefully will get some practice done later :) and have at least done some plotting re. what to do around the house and in what order. But that is all!

  • LB, cherisong's quote in full was:

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another. ~Anatole France
    To change one's life:
    1. Start immediately.
    2. Do it flamboyantly.
    3. No exceptions.

I posted it on FB and it was picked up by a couple of friends and family, and we are all on a mission now :rotfl: good luck!
