  • afternoon all :)

well I am on work from home day today and finding it tough going. I have a massive work frog to eat, it is big, ugly, will taste disgusting, is wriggly and first I have to work out how on earth to eat it!

so I am procrastinating as only a professional manana banana can do :(

my house is a bombsite, seems to be the effect of a few days relaxing and not being here over the weekend. I have a busy couple of evenings so it will be Saturday before I can really tackle everything :(

I have also been a bit naughty on the spends, not massively but just spending money without thinking where it will come from. Mostly on food over the weekend - difficult to plan ahead and take packed lunches for all the car journeys when I slept in 3 different beds over the weekend! I feel like I had lost control so need to get that back. Should have done the envelope thing on pay day again

knew there would be a little down blip following all the recent positivity but hopefully it will be shortlived. Chirpiness can only come from me so best jump to it :j and grit my teeth. I will try a couple of 15 minute bursts and hopefully things will start falling back to how I want them to be!

oh - positive news is that I have an amp to borrow thanks to one of my mum's colleagues. And I sent a friend a Good Luck card is she is moving back into her house this week (done the same as me and bought out her ex). She has just texted to say thank you as it has really lifted her spirits so that has made me feel better :) her story is similar to Burntfingers so I am glad that it has come good for both of you!

My house is also a mess and the cat has just knocked a plant or over do there's compost everywhere :(.
Just done first shred, not sure I'll ever walk again...
  • :T nice work LB! it is a killer the first couple of times but you get used to it very quickly :)

It was good for me but in the end I found I was building muscle quickly but not losing much fat so switched to something with some more cardio which is now working well. I am still partial to the odd shred though :)

work has been really hard today, going over the same thing again looking for the same breakthrough that is just not there :( there's only me to fix it and I know I will get it eventually but my boss is waiting for some results and I can't get them yet :(

had a lovely lesson with harp pupil though, he is full of the joys and we did some good stuff today. A more structured approach is working for both of us and I think we are going to get loads done this term :)

still feeling a bit gloomy, such a comedown from the weekend of friends/family/racing to the max. I am really missing cuddles and company but am making do with the dog for now :rotfl:

but I had nice tea with lovely fish from the farm shop. I am in a cooking rut at the moment so need to find some new stuff to try so I don't keep diverting to pizza  this is dreadful for my figure and my finances.

will do some practice in a bit and then head off to bed for an early one, I am still pooped from the weekend.

Hi love, I got into cooking ruts every now and again too but treated myself to a few cookbooks and use them to stop me keeling over with boredom!

    Have a hug X

  • aww thanks Souk that is really muchly appreciated :)

I have stacks of cookbooks, although more of them are baking than dinners if you see what i mean :rotfl: and sadly while I would love to survive on cake it just wouldn't be good for me :D

But I need to get on and look through them - time is tight in the week but nothing stopping me doing a big cooking session at the weekends. I really want to stick to my food budget this month so will think on :)

Teach me to check my posts before I send them! Must have been the post shred shock!

Do you ever use the BBC good food site? Sooo many recipes and lots of categories; healthy, easy, freezable, cheap etc.

Glad the teaching is going well. The harp playing lady from the royal wedding was on This Morning (or similar) the other day and I thought of you!

I have no clue who you are, so welcome anyway lol.

I see the spendy elves have been to your place too, I share your pain. Several things have fallen into my bag recently that maybe shouldn't have done, but I shall move on, and be more frugal in future

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • hi and welcome chev, I don't think you posted on my old diary but thanks for popping by :j

LB - I missed her on This Morning but will hunt for a linky. Saw a small picture in Hello with the magnificent custom built harp, won't tell you how much that cost but it is eye watering!

well. after a rotten start to the day, which began with a blinding headache, I really forced myself to get up and walk the dog. I almost rang into work it was that bad, but did the normal trick of waiting until I had been in the shower before deciding how I felt as that normally sorts me out.

took the dog to the vets today for his jabs, and the vet confirmed he is rapidly going downhill :( his medication is doing its job and we are going to try him on some extra painkillers, but having had the same stuff before I know what it's for and how strong it is :( bless him, he really is sore when he has to get up.

He still wants to go out and is still loving his food, but I think he is getting the look behind his eyes. I have been gently mentioning it to ex hubs for a while, as I know he will find it hard to come to terms with saying goodbye. He will probably cope better once it's done though, whereas i will be the other way round. We will see how the painkillers go, but they aren't good for him really so it is obviously getting near the end *sob*

once the vets was done, after a little more procrastinating, I settled down to munch the frog. Chopped him up into little pieces, held my nose, shut my eyes and down he went. Hopefully he won't reappear tomorrow when I present the results to my boss!

brownies was off tonight, didn't realise til I got there as I don't think my friend had told me (but could be wrong). so I was very pleased to receive an extra 2 hours in my evening :T as I was still feeling a bit low. I think I may be coming down with the lurgy as I have been freezing cold the last couple of days and really hungry which is normally a strong sign for me.

I have finally done my census  ummmm naughty me. Did it online and didn't take as long as I thought but then there is just me :)

I am going to do a tiny bit of practice later, finding it hard at the moment as my mind is on other things and I just can't concentrate. I am off for a bath as I really fancy one, so will play after that and then head off to bed. Early start tomorrow as the dog needs a walk as well as the normal morning stuff.

Hoping the mood improves soon - think I am just run down and needing a lift of some sort, so will have a ponder and see what I can come up with - when I have assessed how much those pesky spendy elves have fleeced off me! :rotfl:
