Does anyone know how to remove black mould from distempered walls? I was trying to be environmentally friendly and used distemper to allow my old walls to breathe and now have mould spots appearing in the corners and around the windows.

squarebear, will it not just lift off when its hard? try something gentle like a plastic or wooden item to remove it. OR just heat the hob up so it melts again.

runnerbean - what temperture do you use to wash them and do you use fabric conditioner? Guess its good exfoliation!

not very os or mse but to get really soft towels you need fabric softener and the tumble dryer :) if you already do this then i'd say it's a build up of residiue and to try a vingegar wash

Well I tend to wash at 50 but wasn't sure about the fabric conditioner- cause I'm sure I read somewhere that it affects the towels absorbency? Think I'll try all recommendations (maybe not all at the same time) and let you know :rotfl: Thanks

I've been using vinegar as a final rinse and soda crystals with my washing powder for a long time now and I find that although fleeces come out really soft, things like tee shirts seem to be getting really hard to the touch. Is the only solution to start using conditioner again? Maybe just using it now and again? For some reason I notice it more on the dark wash? I like the fact that my machine stays gunge-free these days so am reluctant to use conditioner if there's an alternative? Thanks for any ideas.
