Just been thoroughly embarassed by the state of our downstairs rooms. We very rarely have visitors to the house, but our neighbour had locked herself out and was waiting in her cold porch for her OH to get home, so I invited her in for a cuppa. And before she even got through the front door I caught myself apologising for the 'scruffiness' of the place. Meaning that there is clutter everywhere, I hadn't washed up from last night, haven't vacuumed for a couple of days; nor dusted or taken the washing upstairs, the kitchen floor desperately needs washing, the place probably smells 'doggy', we'd just collected a bookcase and some books from my mother last night which were still in the dining room...

Well, you get the picture :D

Now that she's gone, and bless her, she said it looked lovely, have I now remedied all those things? Have I heck-as-like :p

Slob lady to the core, me. :A

Could you lovely people help me with a question when cleaning. When you spray cleaner onto a surface do you wipe it off with a damp or dry cloth. I have noticed that when I look at some surfaces close up that have been cleaned I can see streaks which I cannot get rid of. I don't know whether this is due to too much product being sprayed onto the surface, the type of cleaner or should I slightly dampen the cloth before using it to wipe.

I use a wet cloth myself. I do not use cream cleaner, this does leave horrible streaky marks.

I do both. I spray, wipe with wet then dry with tea towel.
