evening all
late again, I never seem to get much time on here lately,
Welcome Apollonia :wave:you will love it here and you will soon be as adicted as the rest of us :rotfl:
Maytaurus - Love the knitted zebra crossing, never realised at first that it was done in plastic bags. Thank you for your kind words on my IS Hats glad you liked themI posted them a few days ago, I hope they get there in time, with the postal strike.
ISOM - I vote for ISOKE, how can anyone scream at something sooo cute
Kathy - talking slippers thats just what I could do with, mine have just about had it and a new pair is definitely on my wish list, I've been hanging on as its so near my birthday and Christmas, surely someone will notice my toes hanging out the ends :rotfl:
Jean - what a nice blessing and such lovely words
Chalky - when are you off? and just how much wool is hidden in every nook and cranny in the sunshine bus
I have got over half of Mum's friend's scarf done, a couple of Xmas stocking's, penguins eyes are finally in place and the rope is made for the mountaineer, just got to find a couple of tiny buttons for on his rucksack, so I am getting somewhere .
Right the sofa is calling so I am off for a knitting session
Night all

Mountaineer Pippa? Have I missed a project
Sounds very interesting! You could always knit or crochet some slippers - there are some great pics on the stonehaven (I think) meeting thread on LH of some.
I have finished my hat finally - thanks to Pam. The decreases seemed to go on forever and they look abit square so I made DH try it on and it looks fine on.
Going to be starting a ripple blanket next, for my MIL who isn't very well but will do some little stuff between sessions. Now I've said ripple blanket, I'm wondering if I should do a huge granny square....Oh no, indecision strikes - again!
Chalky, had a look at your lovely blog as well as attic24 again - well done you :j Lucy says you inspired her - how lovely. Have a safe and pleasant journey back.
Off to start the blanket - what on earth was Dannii up to on X factor? Put me off my knitting :eek:0 -
Friends just left - v. impressed with my storecup supper! Watched x-factor (under duress!) and oh my goodness....almost soft !!!!!! in places and as ever the judges just seem to want to outdo each other with being malicious...yuck! Nice eve though and some crochet done. V impressed that one of "us" mentioned on atticks blog - love it but the cols v bright for my wee flat and the look doesent quite match here iykwim...may make Isoke a blankie though as shes discovered my fabric box which, due to carpet, now has no lid so to avoid cat hair ...friends loved her and she gets 100% votes so far but all has been quiet on western front tonight!! Isoke currently having a run after a snooze!! Did her a quick hangin toy with crochet and a bell at the end and she loves it! Manu and Alfies mummy will return some of the gazillion toys I gave her!! People generally less worried about the decision now and tbh even if they werent and I was paying for her keep I still went from 4 cats to 1 so still 3 saved iykwim but yes, I love my mum to bits. Weve been through alot over the years, have had to work through a fair amount of "stuff" and just get closer and closer...along with her and friends know that the last couple of months would have been unbearable...Unfortunately she has lost grannys engagement ring so if she doesent find it I will give her mine. When granny died I designed and had a ring made - white gold slim band with a square center emerald and two baguette diamonds either side - to represent gordons G&t which we used to get squiffy on togeather while playing scrabble! Anyway, while I would miss it both rings represent memories of a special love that we had and being able to give something special back to mum, which she knows means alot, when so much given of late seems right. Will keep you posted. Isoke just gumped in crochet bag so shoul go rescue....Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

craftlady is this anything like the stitch you're looking for.http://www.knittingonthenet.com/stitches/garterloops.htm
or, after transferring the long stitches back to the left hand needle cross them using a cable needle and knit singley.0 -

This is a Twisted Drop Stitch Scarf Pattern http://kisknit.wordpress.com/2006/09/13/twisted-drop-stitch-scarf-pattern/
So obviously the straight stitch in your pic has been made ‘sort of triangular’ somehow
Afraid the best pattern match I could find is this one for a scarf or stole
It’s on the diagonal rather than straight though & you’d have to make it the size you wanted
You can get it at Ellan, hope it’s of use, it's here

As you know, I haven’t been able to do any knitting recently,
I know there are a lot of free patterns around but if you want to knit something really special ....
I’ve always thought that they have some of the most beautiful & unique patterns I have ever seen
I made this one for my daughter to remind her of sunnier times in Egypt :j:j:j:j
The list of all their free knit patterns is here;
http://www.elann.com/freepatterns.asp
Sorry I haven’t posted them before
I’ve just finished making a Happy hearts purse but mine are in red with white glitter wool heart and white glitter wool with a red heart
From........ http://www.marloscrochetcorner.com/patterns.html
There are other free patterns on there, as you probably know
Have a lovely

Hi Maytaurus - once again you've come up trumps with the patterns! Some lovely ones there, thanks. There are at least thirty things I want to make - the cardies on there are gorgeous. I can't believe the patterns are free! Your daughter's scarf is beautiful and really unique.
Kinsey - that pattern would look lovely worked as a scarf or even a blanket. Thanks for that.
Chalky - if you're reading this, a safe and happy journey to you and your DH.
ISOM - Isoke sounds like a real character already!
Well, a little bit more crochet done on the ripple blanket last night but I must sort out some smaller items to make in between. I had another sort through my stash yesterday and rediscovered yarns I didn't know I had, so I'm going to go through my patterns today and decide what else to make.
Anyway, I'd better go and get Louis' breakfast - he's sat right behind me on my office chair, purring like a little engine!
See you later.

Afternoon all.
How are you all ? I am struggling with my back (and have had head and neck ache for last 2 days). and so not feeling so chirpy these days! We choose a new matress yesterday and they are planning to deliver on Tue (would have been mon but car is out for MOT and so not sure when I will be in/out!).....so hoping this will help. We have a memory foam one but it does not agree with me, and DH also not that keen on it either...only 4 yrs old too!
Am still knitting away, making presents and preemie stuff, also Christmas stuff too (got the pattern for some wee stockings but not started yet!). I am loving hearing all about the kitties....they seem to be as much fun as DS is some days!
Anyway hope all are ok, and I will pop on with my brief total update later.
