    Hi all,
Popped in earlier but saw Maytaurus`s post with all the links and got side tracked . Lots of lovely things as usual just to add to the confusion of what to do next. Lots of h*******k to be done buuuut, having one of those ` I can`t be bothered doing much` days - perfect for knitting ;) There`s always tomorrow, after taking DD to physio appt.

Did a scarflette the other night(posted by Kinsey) It worked up really quickly and came out OK. Ideal for tucking into the neck of your coat or jacket but I wouldn`t wear it myself as I can`t stand anything with a high neck / polo neck (my neck is too short for them ) Might try to adapt the pattern by using less stitches so that it isn`t so deep and see if that works for me. A curly scarf (knitpicks one - posted by ??? sorry)was finished last night. Didn`t read the pattern through first though and landed up with too many stitches for straight needles :o so had to hunt for a circular. Not the same size, but it served the purpose. Must pay more attention.

    Will update later.

    Hi everyone.

Pippa - I love your penguins! They're really cute with their little hats and scarves.

Orkney - hope your new mattress does the trick. It's surprising how much difference a good mattress makes to decent sleep.

Elaine - Maytaurus knows exactly how to fire our imaginations up, doesn't she? Which scarflette pattern did you use? Like you, I hate having anything high on my neck but it's the sort of thing my Mum would appreciate. I'm still going to make her the wheelchair wrap that Prfunig found a pattern for; not that she is in a wheelchair, but she sits a lot knitting and, as there isn't a lot of her, she feels the cold on her shoulders. I have so many things on my list of things to make - wish I magic some more free time!

ISOM - I've found a crochet blankie I started ages ago in cream and tangerine, but I didn't have enough tangerine to finish it and the colour was discontinued, so I shoved it into a bag, because I couldn't be bothered to unpick it. I found it today and it just needs an edging then Louis can have it in his bed. It's not very big but it will hopefully stop him attacking the knitting or crochet that I'm doing when I sit down in the evenings! One thing I've found that really does distract him is a soft tape measure - he spends hours playing with mine and carries it all over the house, so I've had to find my spare one.

I hope Chalky and her DH got off to a good start this morning.

Well, as we are moving things around the house while DH works in different parts, I've managed to get some more boxes sorted out and emptied. I sorted out two boxes of fabric and found yet another stash of wool I'd forgotten about. Last year, my local wool shop in the UK had a lot of reduced-price yarns in their baskets so I bought loads of really earthy wintery colours. I must have just shoved them straight into a box because I had no plans for them at the time - just couldn't resist them, so they were a real surprise to find this morning. Needless to say, DH didn't share my sheer joy, but I know you will all understand! I also found my huge box of buttons, which is a relief because I've had to buy buttons three times since we arrived here - a bit annoying when I've got at least 1000 here already, but a great excuse to visit our lovely haberdashery! I've also tracked down my supply of felt, and all my trimmings, ribbons, lace and other exciting bits and pieces. It's surprising how much it means to me to have them all to hand, in the same way that I felt about having all my books on the shelves after months of having them in boxes. I found some squares, too, that I'll get sent off to Lou by the end of the month.

I posted off my IS hats last week and hope they get there in time because of all the regional postal strikes. I wish I'd posted them earlier; I was trying to get to 30 but only managed 20 in the end. Hopefully, they will get there just in time.

Anyway, I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday. I'm going to make a cuppa then go back and have another look at the links that Maytaurus posted this morning - so many temptations.

    Hi all.

ISOM - special thoughts and (((hugs))) for your friend's son. I know how worried I was when my DS2 had to have a series of ops on his ear, so having a son in severe pain with the threat of spinal injuries must be terrifying. I wish him well and hope the op sorts everything out for him.

Shezmit - your Spiderman is amazing! I've heard of hama beads but never used them. Daren't try another craft at the moment, though!

Sylvia - yes we do still update on here. I hope to add an update page to my blog soon. Having mentioned my blog, I'm trying Blogger at the moment, because, unlike other blog sites, Weebly doesn't show the comments that people leave. I hope to have decided which one will be the main one soon. Thanks for the info about the Children's Society - I'll google it and see what comes up.

Well, I've cleared up the dinner things and this is the first Sunday in ages that I've sat down in time to watch the whole of Countryfile - I usually only catch the last ten minutes.

    Have a good evening.
