ok, to elaborate a bit more on my above post.
the whole concept of a virtual escort in second life would work in much the same way as it would in real life.
you would request the services of your escort, pay them the required fee and then basically get down to it.
what makes it different in some respects is that the "action" is going on in front of you in animated form. there are various accessories and impliments you can use in second life to allow you to do this.
as an example, you can have a sex bed. it will be pre-loaded with X amount of animations depicting various different sexual positions. one avatar clicks on the 'male' button and the other avatar clicks on the 'female' button and the animation is activated - the two avatars are then engaged in the respective sex act.
while this is going on, you would basically use your imagination to type in what you are doing to your respective escort, and they would return the favour.
as an example (keeping it clean and PG rated) you could type "i pull out the chair" to which your escort would reply "i sit down" - but obviously you'd be unspeakably filthy
it basically comes down to how seriously you take it really - i've known of people who take it totally seriously and i've know of men - and women - who would, let's say, "take care of themselves" in front of their PC's while this action is going on on screen.
i've known other people who do it and usually end up falling about laughing because they write more and more outrageous things and their partner of choice goes with it as well.
most fetishes are catered for on second life and you can buy anything from animated willies to animated sex pool tables.
it's not a massive earner to be honest though. if you charged a punter a 1000 lindens for a session, you'd need to do five sessions per day just to earn £5.

I assume given that it's a second life, you don't have to prositute yourself to earn money in SL? I guess there are plenty of other ways to make money in the game, perhaps even more profitable than the oldest profession in the world?0
