Hi there, back after a week's holiday. Will Wi tomorrow morning but I know it will be bad as the last week has been a food nightmare! one good thing is that we drank very little wine so at least it's just the food sins (AARGHH).

Never mind, back on track for me!

Ive ordered some chantenay carrots for mr t to delivery on Wednesday along with lots of other yummy veg. if I was to chop the ends off the chantenay carrots and peel them, there would be nothing left of them so im wondering whether if i just chop the ends off leaving the peel on whether that would be ok. Im thinking they would roast up rather nice with other mixed veg.

I hope you had a lovely holiday. doesnt matter how bad it is when you weigh in today, you enjoyed yourself, ate / drank (little!) but you are going back to class and that shows committment and dedication. it would be so easy after a holiday to say oh, ive messed up, cant be bothered with it anymore and never go back.

weigh in, perhaps ask for a food diary then how about aiming to have 6 - 8 superfree foods items each day for the following week to help you get back on track and ensure a good loss for next week?

Im having a green day today. Got a stinking headache from drinking too much Saturday night (serves me right!) and don't feel like eating much anyway. Can't decide what to have for brekky though. Don't fancy anything hot - just want a bowl of cereal. Trouble is I want to save my HE's for lunch and dinner. Think I'll just have yoghurt and fruit.

I agree with Flat Eric, Biscotte. Just put your holiday behind you and get back on track today. Everyone does things like this - its only natural when you're on holiday. Don't beat yourself up if you have gained weight, just keep positive that you will lose whatever gain you have now.

I often do not peel veg like this - it is where much of the goodness is! I have a vegetable brush (like an oversize nailbrush) that I give them a quick once over with, but then just top them. Hope you like the chantenays - I think they are a great tasting variety :D
  • I have been planning my weekly menu this morning (I usually do it on sunday, but we ran out of time so I am doing it now) only problem it has made me soooooo hungry!

I had planned a red day today, but I have shifted it all about and am now having a green day - this means I am sitting here eating a mugshot!

What does anyone else do for inbetween snacks? I would usually have fruit, but I am about to get to the shops, so I have run out of stuff! I have never been a snacker (three meals a day, no snacks usually), so this 'hungry between meals' is all a bit new to me. Because of the way I eat (usually!) all my B's are used within my meals. I often have an A left over though as I don't often use both each day.

    what are your strategies?

Thanks Flat Eric and Beachbeth. in fact I only put on half a pound:j :j

So, back to the plan for me - I will fill in a food diary and I also like the idea of having a certain amount of superfree foods - I think my fruit and veg consumption is a bit too low at the moment as all the yummy fruit (soft berries and stone fruits) have disappeared from the shelves.

i have the children home form school until thursday (half term) so that makes things a bit more complicated, but otherwise I should be able to get myself sorted.

I have only just seen your message so this may reach you too late for your trip to the shops but here are snacks I would suggest.

pepper / carrot / baby corn cut into strips to be enjoyed on its own or with a low fat dip either low fat thousand island (syn) or low fat natural yogurt and encona hot pepper sauce (superfree but very HOT  )

alpen light bar (only 3 syns) or 2 = HEB

mullerlight yogurt (nb I grab those free spoons you can get in some shops particularly m&s where they are individually wrappped as it saves taking a spoon from home.

if it was a red day, morrisons eat smart sausages wrapped with syn free bacon. cutting the sausages up into bite size pieces.

    grapes

green - the mug shot as you suggest.

perhaps if you are out and about or at work, a home made soup kept warm in item code 11203 from the lakeland limited sitemeaning you could eat as and when you want it.

perhaps make up the slimming world quiche but cook in little tiny tins rather than one big tin meaning that you have lovely mini quiches to take to work / out with you.

have a look on the SW members area. click on useful features then meal and snack ideas then "click here for more features"

both the low syn lunchbox lovelies and the ultimate in packed lunch inspiration have some fab lunch / snack ideas.
  • ive stopped going to weigh ins. which is silly but i really dont get on with them. its hard enough explaining to myself why ive put on weight etc without feeling scared of others knowing. my group was so lovely, but i put on a few weeks back and i just cant face going back.

My scales at home say ive reached the 2 stone mark. But i feel fatter than ever and my eating disorder is forever on the verge of kicking back in. 2 stone is so much to have lost but i cant stop hating myself for getting so big that i now have 3 stone more to loose to get back to normal. I was 10 stone and happy last year, after loosing 4 stone, and yet somehow i was 15 again and my task this time is to loose a third of my body weight, and i just dont feel when i look in the mirror as if im getting anywhere.

Because of how tall i am, ive lost 2 stone but only one dress size. In the magazine this month the cover woman lost 2 and a half stone and 3 sizes, and im just jealous because i wish 2 stone meant more sizes to me. I spose being a 16 for the first time since last christmas is nice, but im only just a 16 and i know a weekend of eating food i enjoy could send me back to an 18 so easily.

Sorry for the rant. I moved to wales to live with my boyfriend after uni recently, well August, and still have no friends so i feel really isolated and have no one to talk to. There was no one younger in my group and i couldnt face talking about the trouble of slimming and feeding kids anymore. Im a moany so and so basically.
