    Hi guys,

kitten_hugs2.gif of the gentlest kind to pen-pin, poppyoscar, anniestar, grannybroom and to all others who are in need at this time.

SnowyOwl, whoops! - if not the shoes I definately recommend a large glass (or two) of something chilled. I shall be joining you myself once the uniforms and packed lunches are done.

I have done the last of my 3 days today and feel very tired but pleasantly so. I am a little dissapointed with the child care as they have been late 2 of the 3 mornings, both times by 5 mins and as I only have 8 mins from opening time to get to the bus stop I have had to run (very nearly 2 black eyes) and ended up calling a taxi. I wouldn't mind but the one query I had was that there would be someone there on time each morning. I shall be having words if it doesn't improve as I can't afford taxis 3 mornings a week.

The slow destruction of our house goes on, LO knocked the telly in their room on to the floor the other day and so it no longer has a picture and he managed to get a pin and put 6 lovely big scratches on to the LCD computer screen. The springs on one part of the settee have gone (they like to bounce on it the minute my back is turned) and I am just wondering what will be next.

As the computer is rather disconcerting to use with these black marks down the screen I have bought a lappy, just a basic one from woolies for £299 and the computer can be moved upstairs at the weekend for them to finish what they have started. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It is a lovely PINK one, and I can just hear Eric taking the p out of me for the colour.

The house is clean throughout and I have half a basket of ironing which I may do later on. Tomorrow I need to clean a couple of carpets and touch up the paintwork in the kids bedrooms and the hall and staris whilst they are all at school.

I hope you all have a good rest of the night and that the weather is a little better tomorrow.

    Smoky. xxxx

Hugs Smoky, I hope you get the child care sort out, that just isn't funny. If only you could claim the taxi money back from them, sadly that is never the case. Hugs to the LOs could they be taking their grief out on objects that can't answer back?

    Aussie Aussie - there's bosom-bragging again :D:D

I agree Smoky that this is totally unacceptable especially as you were specific about your expectations - must make for a stressful, not to say expensive, start to the day - i hope things improve. At the afterschool that I'm on the committee for we pay 15 mins at the start of the day before opening time for the staff to get the activities out and do a bit of planning - they shouldn't be cutting it so fine at yours. big hugs for you and yours
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Congratulations Suesy Sue - what a fantastic achievement. Well done!

Smoky - (((Hugs))) to you and your little gang of house-trashers! I hope you get the child care timing sorted out; you need real reliability you can depend on.

Well, I have just had a lovely long soak in the bath and will watch a bit of telly in a mo; see you all later. Have a good evening, everyone.

Thanks thats great Bargain Rzl how did you get there then
Well, actually your description of the thread brought up a memory from the depths of my brain that the first post on the thread had been about a chunky soup and was posted by Ticklemouse (does remembering that mean I spend waaaaaay too much time on this board  :rotfl:) so I went to TM's user profile and found it under threads started by her :o

Just got home from ballet, via a very roundabout route to enable me to buy a big bag of jasmine rice. Shez, it's not that I'm fed up with the ballet lessons exactly, but I'm really rubbish at it (I "get" it mentally, but can't interpret my understanding to the physical moves...) and it gets me down a little to spend 90 minutes a week doing something I have absolutely no natural aptitude for :o Anyway, today was the last day :j :j I'm not going back next term, but I might do it again sometime in the future if the fancy takes me.

I didn't quite manage to resist the fatal lure of the Book People's cookbooks - but I was quite pleased with my self control given that I actually got to the point of having four books in my arms, total cost £25, and I put back the two most expensive and ended up only spending £9 :) Got the Wagamama cookbook for £5 (RRP £14.99) - I've fancied experimenting with noodle cookery for a while - and for £4, a bumper book of slow cooker recipes including how to make cakes in the SC using a cake tin as a bain-marie. Couldn't resist, and I WILL use those books, especially as the cakey things sound like a very energy-efficient way of baking.

As for those lovely purple shoes - the ones that didn't fit were a size 8, so what I am REALLY hoping is that I find a pair of size 7s that aren't too small, in a couple of weeks' time when the sales are into further reductions and I can get them for under 25 quid :o If that happens, they are MINE :D

I hope this doesn't sound flippant, coming from somebody who has never suffered any great loss, but this sounds great - like you're starting to take steps to rediscover who you are on your own... with the added bonus of the memories of the partnership you had with Eric. Love and hugs to you as ever

Anyway, need to make my dinner now, it's getting late!

    Love Rzl xx
