Morning all :hello:
Happy birthday to Pooky for yesterday :bdaycake:
((((Hugs)))) to all who need them, including Penny-Pincher!!, grannybroon, JackieO and smokybabe.
poppyoscar, I really feel for you - I have a good friend on another forum who went through something very similar with a depressive suicidal partner. Difference was, they were married, for a long time, and her own health, career and sanity were put at long-term risk, not to mention the fact that when they did finally split up she lost most of the material things she had struggled to hold on to. She now has a lovely, normal (I really don't like to use that word but hope you know what I mean!) new partner who thinks the world of her. Hugs to you.
Had a great time at the show last night and didn't spend a bean
2 free tickets and programme, plus an unexpected pair of vouchers for my friend and me to get a free drink in the interval, then 2 beers afterwards paid for by my friend in exchange for the free ticket
I nearly blew a few quid in the sales beforehand - having 45 minutes to kill in one of London's prime shopping areas is a dangerous thing
Ohhhhh there are some nice things in the Jones Bootmaker sale this year. But the one pair of shoes I tried on that I REALLY liked didn't fit (I'm a half size and things are often either too big or too small) so I didn't buy anything :A I was muttering the mantra "I do not need new shoes... I do not need new shoes..." and I think the lady standing next to me was another reluctant MSEr because she was chatting on her mobile while casually trying on shoes, and I heard her say into her phone, "Oooh, I've just found a lovely pair of black heels... what am I doing? I don't need another pair of black heels! Oh God, I need to get out of this shop now...!" and she left :rotfl:
Today I have to resist my other addiction, cookbooks, as we have a Book People stall coming to work today.
Talking of cooking, am making a Thai green chicken curry this evening when I get home. Must stop off somewhere for a bag of jasmine rice on the way home after ballet. Tonight is the last week of ballet lessons, [strike]hurrah!!!![/strike] what a shame
Love Rzl xx

Hello everyone,
Sorry Poppy to hear that your exOH is going through such a terrible time. I really hope he get's the help he deserves. Take care of yourself as well.
Well I've just been doing this and that today. I'm frightened I'll bore you all to tears, as I seem to do much the same each day. I didn't get as much sewing done as I hoped but I did cut it out.
Went to Mass this morning and Father asked me, yes me, would I write out a detailed route planner (bus & train) from the islands to all the various hospitals   on the mainland so newcomers will know how to get there using public transport. I nearly laughed in his face.
Hopefully do as I say and not do as I do will work.
I said I would look into it.
Kyle Maybe it's what's in the bedroom
and not the bedroom.
elona Let us know your HM heel softener goes. I often get cracked heels from wearing thongs (footwear )
in summer.
Charlies Mum Have a lovely time with DGD tomorrow. It's Ninny day for me as well.
MrsMix

Hi Lesley!
My OH plays for a local tennis club, and we got the tickets through a draw via the club. We're going on the Friday and have tickets for Court 1; at £30 each I actually think that's a bargain when you consider we'll be seeing world class players. We went to Eastbourne last week to see the Ladies tennis, and that's only £16 for the day for Centre Court; we saw play Bartoli, Petrova and A. Radwanska, amongst others! In previous years there I've seen Navratilova, Clijsters, Henin and Mauresmo!
Best,
Dutchy xToto, something tells me we're not in Kansas anymore......0 -
The Inquest has been opened and adjourned. So some progress. Still seems very unreal though.
Will post later. Have a good day everyone. Ann xxxxBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

Hi all - just a quick visit before I have lunch and go to my old workplace - haven't been since I left over eighteen months ago! Still, it's only an afternoon there - I shouldn't feel the old stress returning after just an afternoon, surely?
Donny-Gal - please don't feel bad that life is good for you right now. We all have good times and bad times. I'm glad things are good for you - it gives hope for all those going through sad worrying times that there is light at the end of the tunnel, even if, sometimes, the tunnel is very long. We love reading your posts so please don't feel you shouldn't write and tell us about what goes on in your two necks of the wood.
JACKIE0 - good luck for tomorrow and enjoy your G&T - you deserve it so very much!
Elona - I suffered from cracked heels for years and tried everything. The only thing that works for me is basic Nivea - you know, the cheap little blue pot that costs about 99p. In fact, my last one was on offer in Superdrug for 66p but I think that offer is finished now. For some reason, my DH has feet as soft as a baby's and never has so much as a hint of dry skin, let alone sore heels!
Oh, well - time for lunch - will call back later. Massive (((hugs))) for all who are suffering today.

Back again! Can I just say that I agree 100% with Kathy re Donny-Gal(and anyone else having a good time right now. Please please Don't feel in any way guilty. It is FANTASTIC to hear about good things and nice to hear about some of our "family" having good expierences. Sadly, "Stuff" happens all the tiime some times we know in advance(illness etc) sometimes we don't. After what happened last Friday I think more than ever before we should sieze every moment. Try new things, enjoy the things we enjoy, ( and one for me) stop putting things off. If you want to ........dye your hair green, get a tattoo, ride a horse, take up naked morris dancing, have a pet goat that you want to call King Norman the 33rd............. Well JUST DO IT!!! This isn't a rehersal. Please never ever feel in any way bad about posting good fortune, happiness or luck. The general ebbs and flows of life are what (in my deranged opinion) make this place so special.
Have a good afternoon and try to stay dry!!! Annx xxxBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

Is it ok if I post here more than once a day?
After getting flour everywhere, pitta bread is now being left to expand!! And, I think I have converted Mum to the idea of Amazon Marketplace.
Mioliere - hope work goes well!
Dutchy - hope your knee injury heals quickly
Elona - yes, try pitta bread! I am using a recipe which used 1.5kg of flour and then lump of dough is supposed to double in size!!! Mum seems quite skeptical about the whole experiment.0
