<<hugs to Poppyoscar >> and all who are feeling blue and down in the dumps this morning.
I feel a bit mean as I'm feeling quite bright and breezy .Only today and tomorrow then my treatment is finished (fingers crossed)
My neck is a bit sore this moring and the nurse put some fancy sort of plaster on it called Mepilex They say that the burns will heal in a couple of weeks ,but its so odd going everyday knowing that the bit that has had a bad skin reaction is going to get blasted again .its a bit like putting your hand into the fire daily after you got it burned four weeks ago.Still onwards and upwards, at least I get to go home everyday which is more than a lot of them there do.
I have an afternoon appointment today, then tomorrow its one at 12.10.lunchtime so with luck I shall be home and sitting in my garden with my G&T by the time The Archers come on the wireless at 2.00.p.m. daft the things that you enjoy isn't it.
I shall do my packing for my trip to Norfolk tomorrow night and then Saturday morning I am away for a nice long week wandering the beaches of North Norfolk,or if it rains, (heaven forfend )the second-hand bookshops .
I hope everyone has a nice day today ,the sun is shining at the moment and I'm just going to put my tiny bit of washing that I have done on the line for a good blow .No more washing for a week as well
    Cheers everyone

    Good morning!

Sun is just breaking through the clouds here, lovely at the mo! Long may it last, need to get ds out mowing the lawn for me later, he'll be so excited! He's lying in bed moaning that he was sick, think it's this bug that's doing the rounds here, so whilst he's off school he can make himself useful.

Out for lunch with a friend, off to eat our own body weight at the Pizza Hut buffet! Not sure what will be for dinner, will have a rootle round the freezer, think there are some pork loin steaks for the kids dinner, at least I hope there are some!

Just need to have a quick whizz around with the hoover in a bit and put WM and BM on, not too much to do as new sofas finally arrived yesterday, so downstairs had a good go then.

Hope everyone has a good day xx

Hi all - just a quick one from me to send lots of (((hugs))) to PenPin, Smoky, Mrs Mix, Candygirl's Dad, Beth and her DBs, Grannybroon, and, again, Poppyoscar; oh, and anyone I have missed out. So many going through sad times now.

I mentioned yesterday that my ex-boss called me out of the blue to ask if I could work a week Friday, which I can't because I'm going on a 'hen' weekend. I said 'any other time would be OK?, Well, that 'any other time' is this afternoon! He wanted me to go in all day today to cover for staff illness, but I can't because I'm just finishing the accounts for DH and doing shopping for the things he needs to take when he goes away on Saturday. Anyway, I said I'd go in this afternoon so I've just had to dig my nursing uniform back out of the cupboad for ironing and try and get my 'nurse's' head back on! I keep thinking I really haven't got the time but he's such a nice bloke who's very good at sounding pathetic on the phone and I just couldn't say no!

Anyway, for that reason, it will be very quiet on here this afternoon but, no doubt, I'll be back this evening!

The weather is lovely here at the moment but I don't have enough washing for a load so I can't make the most of it. We are having cold meat, salad and new pots for dinner (not the roast I had planned now that I'm working). I have to pick up some bits and pieces for DH when I go shopping this morning and I hope to get some more bookwork done before I go in to work. Worst of all, I won't get my little after-lunch snooze! Still, at least I'm well enough to go in - last week I'd have had to say no.

For all those who are suffering such sadness and anxiety, I hope posting on here helps a little; you'll find such support and love. We're here for each other; this is the best thread of all when you are in need of a shoulder to cry on, someone to sound off to or just a friendly 'voice'.

    See you all later.

Hello all you nice people! :hello:

Warm wishes and positive thoughts to all in need of them......

Today I'm nursing a sore knee having twisted it playing squash a couple of days ago; who said sport is good for you?? My workplace has had to put me on 'light duties' as climbing stairs is a problem at the moment! Oh well, weekend off coming up, and a glass or two will help numb the pain, haha!
Not much doing here in my world today; just preparing some tofu for my wraps to take to work later, and have made a pot of soup from some vegetables that were about to 'go over'! Was going to plant some seedlings out but the knee put paid to that, grr! I can't even cycle into work as I normally do, so my Sweetie will have to drive me in, thus depriving me of my daily endorphins.

Oh well, it will pass. I can't really complain, on the whole life is really good for me right now - apart from Holland losing the football! :( I'm enjoying the tennis when I can catch it, and am looking forward to going to Wimbledon next week!!

I wish you all a lovely day!

Oh Poppy, what a dreadful thing to happen, depression is very emotionally wearing on those around the sufferer too. I am thinking of you and wishing you well. This is a great thread to get the support you may need right now

Just a quick post this morning as I am off in a mo for a walk round Mayfield with some chums (we go every week on a Wed or Thurs). We should do 6 or 7 miles today, so that will help in the weight loss dept.
    See you all later

gentle (((((((hugs))))))) to all who need them

    Morning all

Thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday - had a lovely day and a lovely dinner cooked by DH in the evening.

The home brewing lark is going well, the house smells gorgeous, all fruity and yeasty. Picked up some more demi-johns yesterday in a charity shop for a couple of quid. Todays experiment will be elderflower champagne, picked the elderflowers this morning on the way back from the school walk, sun was so hot and the sea breeze was so lovely, could have stayed out there all day.

DH is resting up, he's singed off until next Thursday, he's got an interview for a new job on Monday so he's busy sorting out his presentation (I didn't even understand the title of it - let alone the reasoning behind it all).

Going to have a swish of the bathroom in a bit and hoover the upstairs through, both cats are moulting loads and being long haired and white it's a pain in the backside to keep on top of.

Finally got some seeds started earlier in the week - bit late this year but hope we'll get some results.

Sausages and mash with onion gravy tonight - feel like some good stodgy comfort food.

Hope you all have a great day.

Not sure what to say but at least he has family around who know the situation. Please take care of yourself after all the stress and worry you have been through.

I found coriander (fresh) in the local supermarket last night so might make onion bhajis later today and do spiced chicken pieces with it.

Have copied down a recipe for pitta bread so might try that as well if I feel enthusiastic.

You are so brave - big very gentle hug!

Have horrible hard skin on my heels so have made up a mixture of lemon juice and sugar in a paste and applied that to my feet. Put a plastic bag over each foot and trainer socks on top - so am sitting here looking very glamorous;)

I want to catch the local market later and get a tray of jumbo eggs and then need to go for the dreaded smear test, seems it is seven years since my last one!

Tesco dvd of "Criminal Minds" has arrived so might watch that with DD(19) later with hot drinks and a snack.

Hope to get DH to drive me to Lidl tomorrow as the fridge is looking bare.

    Hugs to everybody.
