I think I need to withdraw they are going to screw me big time.Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
i can't remember who is advising you, what have they said?
if they are offering you money and increasing it (even starting low) then they must think that you have a case?
also, who was it that phoned you? surely, this kind of info will have to be put in writing?
good luck in whatever you decide x0 -
It was there legal counsel.

hi again just seen this thread is still running , i hate to say it but i did say it would be far more hassle than it was worth an employer will stand there ground as i had too , i know its a point your making but you have to ask yourself has it, or will it be worth it ??.
Perhaps you should call it a day and im not sticking up for the employer as i do not know all the facts from both sides , it seems to me its not worth all the stress they will drag it out and be as awkward as possible to make it as difficult as possible for you ,as i have also said acas are great at what they try and do and do , but they arnt going through the stress are they?? and as i again said they never tell you how many fall at the first hurdles and you are im afraid still at the starting line.0 -
I tend to agree with you Lone ranger my health is the most important thing and I've had a few really down days and dont want to run this out and make myself ill in the process.
I need to concentrate my efforts on my new job as I forget how much I am enjoying it and that if this didnt happen I wouldnt be there, I have a brilliant boss and the first time in a long time feel I can trust him and he is fab support for me.
So today I am going to withdraw the claim I have got some of the money back for lost earnings not all of it but at least I can walk away with my head high.Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
If they have doubled the amout already not worth holding out a little longer. I feel they are now panicing0

I agree Rich, concentrate on your new job, focus your energy on that not the neagativity that the old job is creating for you. Good luck LenThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Rich, I think the threats are normal. My former employer did it to me.
I got my legal advice completely free through my house insurance (family legal protection I think it was called)
I also chose not to proceed for health reasons but good luck with whatever you decide to do hun.Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

The threats are completely normal. Employers find they "win" more cases by threats, than by being in the right.
IIRC you can only be made to pay costs, if what you get at tribunal is less than their offer. Even then, you only pay costs from the date of the offer to the date of the tribunal.
OTOH, if it goes to tribunal - all of your information becomes public domain. Part of your deal will be a gagging clause. I wouldn't like to say how much that would be worth on its own."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
