Richie is taking her employer to court

No snaggles as yet nothing but I spoke to the employment tribunals service this morning and they have one last chance to get in before the close of business today.
Got a stupid email from my old boss saying they will get back to me now about my grievance early next week!
Sent his a email back saying it was not acceptable as I have waited over 3 weeks now and that would be us going into 4 weeks. All because he had a holiday! Its a big company someone else could have took over the investigation !
So angry and bemused I dont think I can handle this I feel like my life is on hold.
Why do they think they can treat people like this there own grievance procedure states that they must reply to grievances within 5 working days.Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
I'm off to work I'll update later if there is any more info.Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0

Yeah they responded at the last minute looks like we're going to Tribunal!
I find out there judgement about my grievance on Friday or early next week so that should be fun.....
Thanks for all the support I didnt realise how stressful this would be and how life consuming it is.
I'll keep you all updated xIsn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
I HATE MY OLD COMPANY!
I recieved the full response from them this morning
I cant believe how angry I am they have lied on the response to the tribunal.
First thing they said I didnt tell them about my illness until 3 weeks after I told them. I have evidence and witnesses so thats fine.
They have turned around the original error after saying I was not a danger to the business (I have that in a statement from my boss) To now saying I was a danger to the business hence my suspension!
They also deny breaching my confidentialty even though my boss spoke openly to at least 2 collegues about it.
They say I signed myself off sick. I didnt My Dr did.
oh I am so angry!
I take it this is a standard company response deny everything????Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
Ahhh, Richie - they're playing games!
Just keep strong, if you know you're right, you've nothing to be worried about!
Keep copies of all the meeting notes that you took, as well as your 'friend' that you took with you to the grievance.
Honestly, I took previous employer to tribunal and they settled on the steps of the court place, literally (I had Equal Ops Commission supplying legal). It did take almost 18 months though to settle, so you may be in for the long haul.
They flung up all sorts of rubbish, and also failed to attend meetings. I got almost £20k, an apology and a change in company policy and that was 13 years ago!!
Whatever you do, don't reply to them today! Take the letter to your solicitor or read to ACAS before you do anything.
Big hugs mate0 -
I emailed acas this morning they are doing the conciliation service.
Ceebeeby I take it they done the same thing to you by denying everything?Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -

Has anyone done one of these?
I am going to post on the employment forum as wellIsn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
Hi Richie,
Sorry I cannot help with your last question but someone else with greater knowledge and/or experience will do that shortly I am sure.
All I wanted to say was, don't let the bas****s grind you down. The bigger the company, the more impersonal their managers and procedures. There will always be a "closing of the ranks" to protect their reputation as an employer.
At the end of the day, you sound like you have good evidence to refute their claims, and in writing from the manager it seems. So stick to your guns and see it through. You have nothing to lose and they will just hope they grind you down with their stalling tactics and carefree attitude to your grievance.
I once took out a grievance against a manager at an old firm of mine. He lied through his teeth, and I actually won my grievance. OK, I almost fell off my chair when the decision was given, but it is a great feeling to be a) vindicated, and b) to see the look on the face of the other party!!:j
Money should be a side issue, but it does sweeten the pill.:beer:0
