  • They tribunal claim has been accepted on the basis on the disability discrimnation act. But I want to settle and I know the company will want to too.

I know it costs them 10k just to go to tribunal plus any payout but the bad publicity is the major thing for them I know they gave 20k to one guy cause he threatened tribunal and his case isnt as strong as mine.

If you go to tribunal you will get nowhere near £20k - despite publicity you do not get massive payouts. Its the settlements prior to going to tribunal that can be big.

Therefore you cannot really ask what you would be awarded, but what you should ask for as a settlement. WHy not ask for £20k like the other chap got. I wish I'd got that for my twelve months of hell!

I want to settle now dont want the stress of tribunal so should I ask for 20k all they can do is knock me down?

In view of this, I think I'd start higher, maybe 30 or 40k and accept they could knock you down a bit ;)

    Good luck Rich
