  • Thanks Hypno - sure the break in a couple of weeks will do me good, even though it will be on a tight budget! Feel like I'm wallowing in knee deep mud at the moment, can't seem to get on top of anything.

Right, going to fiddle with the heating and then eat something, cos last night when I woke up at some silly time I was cold and hungry.. and then bed, and hopefully some sleep!

Can you make yourself a hot water bottle to take to bed with you - I find it really comforting!

I know that wading through treacle feeling......and the holiday will do you the world of good even if it is on a budget!

    Night Night Red ((Hugs))

You have a good nights sleep xx
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • Good idea Hypno, kettle is on... been in the smelly cellar where the boiler is and put the heating on for an extra couple of hours (thank god it's included in the rent!).

    Thanks Lou.

    Night night xx

Is that a millionaire each Bob, or shall we share one? :rotfl:

Slept a bit better last night - very strange the things that help like keeping the light on! Still feeling worried.. was wandering about earlier this morning feeling worried and realised that I didn't even know which particular thing I was worrying about.

Oh well, off to work again... yawn....

Oh Squirrel, this sounds awful for you. Waking up cold and hungry for a start, and feeling that worried - by all means, leave the light on. I do, in the downstairs hallway actually, because of years of not knowing where my cats were if I got up to go to the loo (they were both dark coloured against dark carpet) and I just got used to it.

I'd like to share a millionaire please :D

    From ZTD:
Yes, even though your eyes compensate for each other, it basically means you're seeing 2D at any one moment in time.

Thats right! Thats what I was told by an optometrist back in 1987 - which explains why everything looks sort of flat to me, like cardboard cut outs, I don't have very much stereo vision. V odd.

    From Z again:
That can lead to eyestrain especially when your "correct" eye is having to work for hours at a time - like staring at a monitor.

Oh, I never thought of that. Oops. Thing is, tho, I don't *have* to stare at the monitor for hours at a time. I'm flicking about playing a computer game, or waiting for a single post on a diary I follow, or reading a news release, anything of a million things, often while not paying attention to what I do need to pay attention to. Like trading. When I'm trading, I just should shut my eyes for ten seconds and chant something.

    From Z, oops:
Glasses aren't a bad thing you know. Even if you can get by without them.

Busted. Vanity, thy name is woman.
I've always looked younger than my age till recently, and in my set of friends I'm the "baby" by 18 months, and .... I don't want to grow old! It would definitely be age-related if I got glasses - I've had this marginal prescription since I was 12 or so [stamps foot] .... I know. I know.

Definitely going to get that cup of tea and give myself a good talking to. I.e, channel ZTD. Sorry for the hijack, squizz, especially when you're feeling bad, can't hike it over to my thread or I would :grouphug:
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • No worries Karma - hijack away! Glasses aren't so bad, I've had them since I was ten, but I can see why it would bother you if you haven't needed them before.

The light thing is weird, I find that I can be really sleepy in bed reading etc, then as soon as I switch the light off my mind races.. so I guess it's a way of breaking the habit. Likewise I slept well the night that I slept on the livingroom floor when the paint in the bathroom was drying. It's just as well I sleep on my own most of the time really.... although sometimes it would be nice to have a cuddle when I wake up at stupid times.

Was thinking on the way to work that there are some practical things I can do in the next few days to make things better - package up and send off the CDs I 'sold' to that MusicMagpie site, print out the housing benefit stuff (got my new lease now), and erm, think that was it!

Already hassled at work - grr!

  • Funny really i always used to sleep with the light on because the children had night terrors when they were little. As they have got older not bothered and i found the easist to have an energy saving bulb on the landing..not as bad on the eyes as it warms up.
Why not get some nice designer specs KC? They make everyone feel good! Says me with 99p readers, my prescription is so mild that i have been getting away with them.
