I'm really hoping the run will help me sleep, I'm quite comfortably relaxed at the moment after a shower and lots of spaghetti. Am scared to go to bed too early though, in case I can't settle.. I'm actually tempted to sleep in the living room, sometimes find that a change of scenery breaks the insomnia cycle
Hiya Red,
I also have great trouble sleeping, (and OH snores too Bob), but I started using MP3 player and listening to music that I like does help me, maybe it would help you two. Although, I have slept in the living room, I don't think it's either very good for one or very comfortable. (Which wouldn't be very good for running with all those aching muscles Red):D

Hi HWGA, thanks.. I've tried music/ radio etc.. does help me relax but can't sleep if I leave it on and when I turn it off my brain starts going 100 miles an hour again. Hi sweet how are you? Just popping back in briefly to say hilo!! sorry to hear about the trouble sleeping, have you thought about popping on an audio book? you can hire them from the library. lay in the dark listening to the book and you'll drift off as you would if you were reading.
The DCA thing.... Sometimes the creditors can switch allegiance between themselves and the DCA unless they have an in house DCA like halifax. I had a card with capital one who had a massive falling out with buchanan clarke and wells and passed their contract across to robinson (absolutely-no-)way. It could be something as simple as that.
Anyway glad the running is going well. I am hoping to be allowed to start running by my gym training sometime in the next 2 weeks. very short distances for very short time scales first and never ever on my own (apparently heheheh) then can build it up from there. HAve you registered on any of the marathon blogs yet? also 2 weeks before the london marathon is hypnos dad's half marathon, they run it in his memory every year, you'll have to come down for that if you like, good practice for may!!
I love the idea of a christmas market good for you. which one are you going to?
hugs.

Hi P, I am seriously tired today, the weird thing is I don't think I'm particularly stressed or worried about anything, although I did have a few things on my mind tonight (nowt serious, just some strange coincidences that made me think about some stuff from the past).
Could be that with the DCAs - I have missed the odd payment but wouldn't have thought enough to make them give up and pass it on!
The running is going a bit better than I expected to be honest - still a struggle to get out there but OK once I do. Am registered on RealBuzz - been reading a few of the blogs on there and there's a good thing for tracking your training and setting goals. Ooh yes I saw Hypno's doing the half marathon, I think it's the same date as local one here but I might come and visit you two instead
We're going to Lille market, meant to be very good and Eurostar tickets are very cheap!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Morning squizz, i had two nightol last night and actually slept 10 hours..am well chuffed. They may make you a bit grog though so could be worth trying if you don't have to be up early doors.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Lille is a good idea! No telling off here, absolument non.
You *have* to go see pania and hypno for hypno's dad's half marathon! Crazy not to - thats a good goal as well. Maybe if my classes take off, I might think about a half marathon this sort of time next year - I don't think I want to go the full hog of a whole marathon.
With this whole tiredness thing - when was the last time you had an honest to goodness carefree holiday? I know I get tremendously keyed up sometimes, its horrible. I was thinking Deep Thoughts about all this while I was away, and am more than ever convinced that for me the answer to the stress I feel is prioritising - not just doing something cos its in front of me, like a stupid survey that brings in 20p, but remembering that, for instance, matched betting will bring me in £15 or so in the same time. That sort of thing.
Ah well, off to check for mystery shops now, and then prepare for pottering about in town, then to the ballet class - take care, I'll catch up tomorrow (or maybe late tonight if I'm excited!)2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi Karma, nice to see you back
Yep, the half marathon is on the list now - I've got a log on the Real Buzz running site with all my training and goals, each of the races has a countdown next to it, quite funny when you log in and see the seconds counting down!!
Holiday - dunno.. the summer one was good for me but it wasn't entirely stress-free or relaxing. I seem to have settled into a pattern of not getting to sleep anytime before midnight and waking up really early, then drifting off and being all groggy and horrible for work. I don't feel particularly stressed but I know my mind has lots going on in it, if you know what I mean? There's stuff going on in there but I feel quite detached from it.
Not a great deal to report here - got my payslip with the extra £60 on it, which is nice! Don't get paid till Tuesday though so it's going to be a quiet weekend.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
That website sounds great! I think the key on the sleep thing is that its become a pattern, as you say - it needs a gradual effort of bringing forward the time you go to sleep (and effort during the evening to make sure you *will* sleep) or a complete wham bam changeover, which is even worse during the time you're adapting to it (I know which I'd choose, but thats just me!). I know that when I have long periods of not getting enough sleep, its agony - hugs for you.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks, yep you're right I've got into a pattern, I can almost guarantee I'll sleep over the weekend though, because I don't have to get up.
Having to chase up the place that's running the Spanish classes today - just realised that I haven't had the confirmation letter from them, and they haven't cashed my cheque. Not having much luck getting the person I need on the phone though, grr!
Just reading over on your thread Karma, about your ballet lessons and it all coming back to you.. probably mentioned before that I did music at college, I played the flute, but since those days I've barely touched it, although I've thought now and then about picking it up again. I actually did play the other night, and was amazed how it all still 'worked' - it didn't sound fantastic but I was pleased that I can still read music and my fingers still automatically know where to go when I read it! So, think I might try playing a bit again, can't imagine going back to 3-4 hours practise a day mind you...
Strangely, the flute playing could be good for the running - when I was younger I was quite good at cross country at school, and I put it down to the fact that I had a big lung capacity.. so both could help each other, hopefully!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
No, I didn't know that - wow! Same phenomenon exactly, it all comes flooding back, and how interesting about the crossover effect of flute playing and running! I like that. You must have been good to do music at college, its so competitive - lovely to take it up again.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
