Rach, I use mine often - I use it to mix fat and flour for pastry instead of rubbing it in by hand. Whipping cream, chopping mushrooms etc. etc. etc. You may not use it all the time but you'll be glad you have one.

Salmon and broccoli tarts in the oven. Summer fruits boozy jelly made. Load of washing on the line (it should dry in time - we've sun now and a nice breeze). Am going to have a half hour sit down in a minute I think.

Managed to declutter the DR - it just needs cleaning now. Hoping DH may do that this afternoon though while I take the kids to the party.

Want to try and sort some work stuff out now that's cluttering up the conservatory so I can decide what to take into work and what to leave here - problem is though, I have hardly any space at work to store things so I end up keeping most of it here.

    Right I'll carry on.

    Morning all.

Popped to Mr T's this morning to use my £5 off voucher. Didn't do to bad.

I was overcharged for some Bonne Maman Jam (supposed to be two for £3) so got double the difference back :D .

I also spotted Doves Farm organic Bread flour 1.5kg for 68p which seems a pretty good price.

The house it looking like the typical Saturday morning bombsite, so I really must get motivated.

The bedding is in the WM.

    Bread in the BM

Quick shower, kids to golf then time to get stuck in.

No you have a buddy in me and I didn't have a clue who he was either:p

    Morning all, just

Still catching up with the thread.

Feel exhausted from Thorp Park, it was busy but kids had a good time and that is another box I can tick.

OH getting ready to go to his Dad's for the night with DS2 and DS3 so a bit of peace will reign.

DS1 staying with me to catch up on homework and revision.

I need to do lunch then find my list. I do not intend to add anything to it just see how much of it I can acheive before we start all over again on Monday.

The sun has come out now and all the washing is dry and put away. I've cut the back lawn too, the front doesn't need doing yet. DD1 came in for an hour and we had a cup of tea etc. Going to watch some 24 soon.

    Afternoon everyone,

I've hugged my boys closer to me after hearing about that baby, and wished i hadn't been such a crank with ds1 this morning when he was messing about.

Trying to be good and do lots today, although rather hampered as DH again came in late, and then went back to work 11pm -about 4 again. I am absolutely shattered, and sure that is why i was being so grumpy.

    Anyway, today:
    • stripped all beds, washed bedding
    • read electric meter, submitted reading to open our new account
    • bought a wedding present for DH's friend who's gift list opened today
    • porch - threw out some trash, hoovered and mopped the floor
    • bathroom - put new binbag in and picked up rubbish, cleaned sink, removed towels/flannels and washed
    • shop - got bread and carrots, and a pork and apple sandwich for lunch
    • living room - found the weeks recycling and got that put out
    • landing - 2 boxes of maternity clothes and 2 boxes of kids stuff in loft
now ds1 is napping, i think i need to get on a bit more, but aim to get loads done today, so just leaving the main food shop for tomorrow and then we can rest and relax together, although perhaps with some gardening - the house feels really unorganised and dirty at the moment.

At least i cooked a lasagna last night for today so no more 'cooking' to think about. ;)

hope you are all having a lovely day.

Lil_me, Well done to your DS1 trying to use cutlery. Did you get him a new set or just trying new tactics?? Well done to you too! Sometimes being mean is the best thing you can do, stop being so understanding and say 'hey, the world is sometimes sucky, deal with it!'.

Lyns, would they 'hold' your job for a year?? They could get someone in on a years contract and you could take a year off and see what happens. I do miss private health care to be honest! My DS2 is entering his ante-pre school year in August, so I will be going to college for those 2 pre school years and when he gets into primary school I should be ready to go back to work or go on to do a degree. The reason for that is, that I didn't bother with school when I was younger, that I am starting to get bored at home but not ready for work and when I do go back to work I'd like it to be a career and not just a basic retail job where I always felt I could do better.

All I can advise is, make sure you have the full support of your OH, make a plan with your OH about what 'chores' you will be doing (I am now doing everything, DH won't even wash a dish now) and think about what you cna do outside the house. The rosy glow of being at home only lasts so long and no matter how muuch you enjoy it, you wouldn't want to work 7 days a week without something else to take your mind of it.

Sinderella, it took weeks for teh house to get to this stage, it's going to take weeks for it to get better, so don't beat yourself up. You have made the first step to gaining control. Start by de cluttering, you will notice a huge difference. My motto is 'My house aint tidy, but nothing is actually crawling yet either!' Baby steps as they say.

Speaking of meningitis, I got angry on Thursday. A child at our local nursery (which is in the primary school) contracted viral meningitus and had been very ill, they go through it thakfully and paid a visit to the nursery to say good bye to her teahers (she still wasn't fit enough to go back). Another parent threw a fit at this, she thought her child had been put in danger! SO teh school had to issue a letter detailing the fact that the chances of another child contracting VM in this way was extremely low! I know you always try to look after your own child but this was just so inconsiderate! The little girl was fine, just weak and she did deserve to come and say good bye to her teachers and friends before the holidays without someone making a fuss like that!

Off to do the luch dishes before my firend turns up.

Tia.. I think many parents are very ignorant about the facts of meningitis they are basically told it is a nasty illness, kills lots of those affected and nothing about the cross-infection rates.. which is actually very low! I'd have told the whinging parent to take her child home!! The child that had been ill was more at risk of contracting another illness from the 'well' children than they were at contracting anything from her.. poor lamb.. I am glad to hear she is getting well though!

Morning everyone, teamming here today and i'm only up an hour:o , hubby got kids up and fed and they changed themselves, don't know what they were at but they look funny.

Went yesterday and got the laptop but it turned out that i was getting a printer and laptop bag with it. Had a lovely time with a 3 course meal that was massive.

The only problem i'm having now is the computer won't connect to the wireless but the laptop will so i'll have to figure that out later.

Hope everyone is well and i'll catch up with the thread later as i haven't had a change yet.

Flying will be done today and all ebay stuff put on tonight (have it washed and sitting ready). I'll update later.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
