    Hi All

Ok daughter is 27 is a teacher, has been CRB checked and lives here with me. She often and has, for years, put money in the bank box for me. She's quite happy to have an interview in fact we are both up for making statements! (Her to say she deposited it, me to confirm cash was actually put in envelope.) We would welcome police intervention.

I do not take offence at the suggestion, in fact I knew someone would eventually suggest it, as I suppose is the norm. You peeps don't know us and in this day and age, well anything is possible.

I have worked 12 hours each day the past 2 days and haven't had a chance to contact the police officer; I will try and ring her tomorrow. We are drafting a letter to HO. By the way my job means I've been CRB checked too ..not that that probably makes a jot of difference but neither of us have criminal records!

    Hi All

Just thought I'd let you know what's been happening. I wrote to the Customer Relationships Unit. Once they'd received my letter they got onto it fairly quickly and I have today received a letter saying that as a gesture of goodwill and without admission of liability etc., they would remiburse my money in full.

I have obviously had my knuckes rapped for paying cash in as I did. Well yes I have learned my lesson here.

Thankyou for all your advice Peeps. I will try and keep on top of this forum it's very interesting it's just the time I (don't) have to keep up!

Incidentally, I wonder whose 'budget' the reimbursement comes from? The branch where it got lost or do they have a central place for 'reinbursements?!?

I have opened up an account with the Abbey which I've not really used yet. I've had mixed reviews from everywhere it seems re the Abbey...time will tell.

    Thanks again everyone. :j
  • Count yourself lucky - as for the Abbey, well their banking practices can't be any worse than yours...
