Bank Lost My Money - Advice Please

New outfit :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :T :T :T :T
I just wanted to post the worst possible otcome - if it were me I would speak to her daughter - no one likes to admit there children can steal but in the long run would the OP wanted her daughter dealt with legal action.
It would help if what you posted had some basis in fact. Until the police have reasonable suspicion to think the daughter was a suspect they won't place her under arrest.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Just a thought here but does mother and daughter have an account with the same bank?
Could the daughter have put the money into her bank's letterbox thinking it was the same one as her mother but is not?0 -
I assume it's either RBS or Natwest in which case the post will be sorted centrally at a service centre. At many branches there are signs asking for cash not to be left even if only to cover for some idiot dropping a match in the post box.
We had a similar situation at our branch where we suspected it to have been pilfered at the service centre and as a goodwill gesture it was paid out to the customer at a loss to the bank.0 -
When I've been interviewed as a witness to crimes I have never been placed under arrest. On your witness statement you do sign a statement saying that your words are true etc. and the interview does take place at home unless your station is nearby.
I am going by what I know, and that is the daughter would be arrested, without evidence.
The purposes of the arrest and interview is to obtain evidence by interview.
The daughter WOULDNT be arrested if they can prove by CCTV she never took itDELETE ACCOUNT.
NO LONGER WANTED
DELETE ACCOUNT
Due to certain users I no longer wish to use this forum0 -
she cheque would have only been able to be paid into the account holders account though0

I assume by the same token that the bank manager will be arrested, without evidence, if the CCTV can show that the money has been put through the letter box.0 -
I really wouldn't post cash through a banks letter box however much I trusted them, its bound to go bad one day. It could be that it got mixed up with something else and they didn't know where the cash came from or something.
You would also be surprised how many cheques go missing at banks. :P:rotfl:0 -

That doesn't make sense.
Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty if that was true?0 -
