    Besides I have no doubt the shops will be full of these by Xmas - otherwise why did Sony pay all that money to advertise PS2s in the middle of the live Man Utd game yesterday, and had advertising hoardings all round the ground.

    thats the point, I didnt have the money, it had to go on the credit card, i speculated that it'd make me some cash, it took the risk and i'm now a happy chappy!

  • By the way, if you look at PS2 prices on ebay at the moment, you'll see you can pick one up with 2 games and an extra controller for about £140. This isn't the £107 I paid for one with Driver 3, but it's not a bad price either.

    Get in there now because the ebay market is saturated at present and they're not much more expensive than the actual Boots price!

    I think you have every right to go on about it mrme.

    It seems you and many others have been badly treated by Boots.

    Just a thought, could it be that you are  a new customer with them?  I buy quite regularly from Boots, so they have my credit card details etc......as I said, just a thought.  

    If it's not this, then as I said before it seems to be a lottery so you should chase them up to find out why you didn't get yours.

    Well i got in earlier and there was a message from Boots to tell me they had been in touch with the warehouse and they have no stock :(
    Therefore my order has been cancelled :o
    I personally am not bothered either way what the people who managed to get 1 do with their PS2's.
    I just wish Boots had the courtesy to send me an e-mail earlier if they had an inkling i might not get a PS2.
    I will be ringing Boots in the morning and see if i can salvage some points for this ???

  • we placed our order on the 11th Nov and the website still shows delivery is due by 23rd. I phoned the customer services yesterday and was told the order had been cancelled due to being out of stock. Threatened to go to trading standards and report them for false advertising. etc.etc. (made me feel better). Anyway, we got a phone call today from one of the managers at the customer service department. They appear to have "found" our order and have dispatched it by courier to be delivered tomorrow. The manager said she will phone to confirm that it has arrived. Watch this space!!

    Do tell us if you get one, I will then have a very strong word with them. I was told there wasn't one in the company and if one was returned it was mine as they did have stock when my order should have been sent, they have no reason for not sending it. Mine was meant to be here on the 16th ??? Guess you could say they were false advertising as they said they had some in stock when they didn't??

    I got an email on Saturday saying mine had been dispatched, to arrive by 22nd. Still not come today, so I called Boots.
    They said it had been dispatched Saturday to arrive by 22nd. Great customer service there then!
    Person on the phone promised they would "escalate" it.
    I'm hoping that the PO hasn't swallowed it up like other parcels I've lost, because Boots will only be able to offer me a refund since there's no more PS2s in stock.
    Just in case, my wife is going out tomorrow to spend the Advantage Card points, as they may try to refund the full amount and remove the points.
    You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.
