Has anyone had any luck doing a FP from a Nationwide account yet (above £10)? I thought they were supposed to be implementing FP's transferring out by June 09? I just tried to transfer £500 but its gone by BACS I think  :wall:. No signs of it appearing in the receiving account... Did I exceed the limit or is it still a pipedream to be able to transfer money out of Nationwide by FP?
I don't think Nationwide have implemented faster payments at all yet for their main sort code 07-01-16, i.e. can't send or receive.

I've got one of the 07-02-46 ones so I can receive them but it looks like I still cannot sent them over £10. *sigh*

Last night I received £3,000 sent from RBS to LloydsTSB in approximately 5 minutes (after banking hours) and was well impressed. The person sending it me was totally gobsmacked at the speed of this transfer. Mind you I swiftly moved it out of the current account into the savings account.

RBS/Natwest and HSBC/First Direct seem to be the only ones who have really got their act together regarding sending faster payments (and have done since day one).

Yesterday I made a FP transfer from Barclays to LloydsTSB and in the time it took to refresh my account page in LTSB (was already logged in) the money was there - took less than a minute! :T

    Can anyone beat that? :D

Oh, tell me about it!!!! I've given up even trying with Lloyds! Every time I call them they try to sell me insurance or loans so I'm on the verge of telling them where to stick their account! ;)

My RS matured this week giving me £6K+. On Wednesday I was able to transfer 3 x £1K FP transfers to Lloyds. Thursday and Friday no FPs possible, nothing to go through until Monday, not even £50!. So I went into the branch took out cash for £1,200 (daily max) and another £300 out of the hole in the wall and took it physically to Lloyds. Very frustrating. Spoke to the staff in branch and called the online staff from the branch as well - it seems the service is not guaranteed and is totally out of their hands

What sort of A&L savings account managed that exactly? My A&L PlusSaver has no option to send to any external account. And when today I tried to send more than one payment from my A&L Premier Current to HSBC current account it refused with the usual "You have already set up a payment to this payee on this date."

Its an e saver account, and when you set it up you could add an external account to do transfers to and from. Don't appear to be able to add any more payees online.

Nationwide has one sort code 07-02-46 which is set up for FPs. It only offers this to NEW customers, though existing customers can apply. If you do, beware problems with your card reader/inetnet access and linked e-saver, so in fact best to also keep you existing Flex account open too!

You can then receive FPs (limit dependant on the sending bank) , but only send up to £10.00 (no, that's NOT a typo: TEN pounds) though this limit will be extended in Jan 09 sorry March, no April, err Sept 09 well.. anyway.... one day...
Thanks for this info G_M, I have updated the first post.
