Today I wasn't sure of the A&L limits... but sent £150,£100 and £100 as separate transactions to my rbs current account. All cleared instantly, so have they increased the daily limit? Or is this because it was a savings account to a current?0

So they give you plenty of opportunity to cancel it if you see that it's going to go by BACS rather than FP.
all true HOWEVER, they do not state anywhere (including on their FAQ) that there is a £1,000, cap so having successfully sent money to the same payee on previous occasions I was not expecting to have to read the procedure each time. I have learned my lesson
I have now more experience...
successfully sent £1,000 (the cap amount) 2 days ago from Halifax doing it at 11pm
tried again today at 10am to same payee but it refused, phoned customer services who said they would see if they could do it from their end, they couldn't. They then stated that as it's a free service they do not guarantee that you can send FP at anytime and that, even if below the cap, they still do not guarantee that FP will be available. She said "just keep trying until it goes through" and that "Halifax were the most recent to adopt the FP system" (and therefore she implies to me their system is not reliable)
Halifax is unbelievable in this day and age, I have never had a problem going the other way from HSBC
Update
tried again as instructed but after hours...
sucessfully transferred £1,000 followed by another £600 two minutes later to same payee. So cap is per transaction not per day and "only" works after hours!!0 -
Today I wasn't sure of the A&L limits, hadn't found this thread then lol. I had a problem sending £300 a few months ago, but sent £150,£100 and £100 as separate transactions to my rbs current account. All cleared instantly, so have they increased the daily limit? Or is this because it was a savings account to a current?
is set to be £250. I don't know whether they have meanwhile increased it or not.0 -
I heard today that Smile have raised their limit on BACS transfers to a massive £100 (still £20 for standing orders).0

Just sent £250 from A&L current a/c to my YBS internet saver. Still not reached my YBS a/c after 30mins. I will update in another 2 hrs.
edit: Apparently, the ybs internet saver sort code 60-92-04 can received FP according to the APACS sort code checker.0 -
Still not reached my YBS a/c. Probably a problem with A&L.0

My wife & I have a joint LloydsTSB as well as individual current accounts, we can transfer immediately between the joint account and our individual accounts but to transfer between our individual accounts can take up to 4 days, even though they are both Lloyds accounts at the same branch.
So to get an immediate transfer, we transfer to our joint account and then transfer to an individual account.
Can transfer to & from Tesco account to any of the Lloyds accounts immediately, surely you would think Lloyds would use Faster Payments between their own accounts?0 -
Has anyone had any luck doing a FP from a Nationwide account yet (above £10)? I thought they were supposed to be implementing FP's transferring out by June 09? I just tried to transfer £500 but its gone by BACS I think
:wall:. No signs of it appearing in the receiving account... Did I exceed the limit or is it still a pipedream to be able to transfer money out of Nationwide by FP?
Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!
