Why are some people on here being so nasty?

When people make a big song and dance about telling you that they've put you on 'ignore', you know damn well that they haven't as they're too frightened of missing anything you might say about them! I also have a 'hate' club on some forums (strange that, who would have thought it? :rotfl: ) and it really makes my day when people tell me I'm now on 'ignore' as I just provoke them even more. Eventually you'll break them and you'll get a page full of expletives in reply, to which you casually respond "I thought you had me on ignore?" :rotfl: which just enrages them further.

Yeah well.... she claimed she was using ignore back in post #252 on the 23/6/08. Like most who claim to be using ignore what she really meant was "I'm going to try not to reply but I won't put you on ignore in case I miss something"
I guess she forgot DD was on ignore.
She will probably put him on ignore now just to try to prove to us that he really was on ignore all along.oldMcDonald wrote: »However, if I were to quote it, would she then see it? Do you see the posts from people on your ignore list if someone else quotes them? Am I equally a trouble maker if I quote it?
Oh, what the hell - I'm going to quote you, anyway
Oh don't worry. As I've said izzy gets a little overwrought every now and again. She's had to take herself off for a sleep in the past when she was getting wound up!
She came back the next day, apologised for being a little too sensitive and said she'd been tired. Bless.
Still, as has been said, it's the differences of opinion and the nutters that make this place such fun to read.0 -
Hi Kids,
To get back on thread to the original posters question, there is an explanation for nasty people here:
http://www.randomhouse.com/catalog/display.pperl/9780385522656.htm
If you cannot afford the book or wait for the library to get you a copy, the author debates the point here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/programmes/culture_shock.shtml
It was always much friendlier when those of us who could see "the solids approaching the air conditioning" were only allowed to debate the approaching disaster in the ghetto.
The good old friendly ghetto thread is still going strong here:
