If you take a picnic make sure it is well covered because the sand blows everywhere - you really do get sandwiches!
The first (and last) thing to remember is - have a wonderful time.0 -

If there is anything wrong with the standard of cleaning in the Chalet, Go and tell them...they will send someone out to clean it again.
If anything is broken go and tell them they will send someone out to fix it.
and hope you all have a great time.

Hi, im off to camber on the 21/07,
we ususally go to haven in weymouth bay,
My tip would be to take a rucksac into the showbar in the evening, and make sure u have a large 2l bottle of pop ( not bough on site!) and those sweet bags like maltesers which are 2 for £2 in sainsburys, so my sons snacks works out at £2 for the whole evening, no one has said anything about us smuggling our own drink and snacks in, lol last year in weymouth we even took our own cider in as it was only £2 in tescos for a 2l bottle, where they charge near on £3 a pint.
xxxx Have fun and let us know how u get on xxxxx0 -
As you come out of the camp, turn left, first pub you come too, I forget the name of it, does fantastic ploughmans and a pretty good sunday lunch too0

Just a quick tip for anywhere with sands in its name, take plenty of sunblock (even on overcast days) and ordinary saline eyedrops for the inevitable eyes full of sand. I live near Poppit Sands and spend half my working life washing out eyes and treating sunburn from people who are not used to the reflective properties of sand/sea.
have fun, its years since I did the Pontins thing but we all enjoyed it

hi, we came back from a 4nite stay at camber sands last friday and the best advice i can give anyone going here is.. don't go!! We had an awful time with three under threes there was hardly anything to do. When it rained (which was most of the time) all the outdoor activities were closed and the indoor ones weren't on! We were told as it wasn't peak season they didnt run most activities. The swimming pool was probably the best thing, although there was sand in the pool, people smoking in the doorway and the showers were way too hot! Please take extra blankets as the sofa bed is awful, the accomodation smelt horrible, and was really dirty. Most of the food areas were closed until 5ish so you had to either buy from the expensive shop on the corner or go round to the "interesting pub" down the road. My children were glad to get home and we are not going back, just glad it was free! good luck hope you have more fun than we did! b.t.w the seagulls are GIANT and very noisy in the early hours lol!0

What a shame you had bad weather, that always makes things seem worse than they are... We use the camp as a base to explore the surrounding area , its cheaper than B & B so entertainments etc or the lack of it don't really bother us...also tend to find interesting places to eat away from the camp.. Noisy Seagulls are par for the course at the seaside .. But I can only guess how your littlies were disappointed...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
