I'm off to Camber too and wanted to plan a few cheap days out. My kids (2 of, age 11 and 8) love animals, so we are going to the Port Lymphe safari park (www.totallywild.net). If you book online, you can save 20% on the tickets and use them any day you like. However, if you try http://kidsvisitfree.pizzahut.co.uk then you can get a free kids voucher which works out cheaper than the 20% (I've been there with my calculator ;) )
We're also going to blue reef aquariums in Hastings (www.bluereefaquarium.co.uk). On the webiste, it has £1 per ticket off, but once again, the pizzahut kids go free website came up trumps and gave me another kid goes free voucher... :)
We went to Camber at a Haven park a couple of years ago and caught the bus to Rye. The kids loved looking at all the boats and we had a nice olde fashioned ice cream, which wasn't actually too expensive.
When we went before, to the Haven one, they didnt have a tin opener, and I had to pay £4.99 at the camp shop for one, so I shall be taking one this time (the same one incidently, not leaving it there after costing me a fiver!!)
We may go to Camber castle, I don't think it's open during the week, but theres the outside to look at... might not be any good for you as it's a mile walk, but if anyone else is reading, it may be an option.
We're getting some shopping delivered on Sunday evening to take on Monday, stuff for picnics etc, as I'm sure the cost all adds up otherwise!
Anyway, apart from that, and the beach and the pool, that's our schedule ;)
We're going Monday 30th, tempted to wear a MSE badge, just to see who else is there ;)
    Hope that helps!

I was going to mention washing up liquid... :) ..tea towel, matches, torch.
We went there a couple of years ago, and one thing I will mention if you're driving-take is easy on that approach road. The bends in the road are quite sharp and we saw an accident when we were there. Lovely holiday, though. Enjoy your break!
