PLEASE DON'T GET SCAMMED AS I WAS
Luckily I just was reimbursed through my bank fraud department for this scam
My partner and I bought a V Festival ticket for a friend who wanted to join us.
we bought it online through SOS Master tickets on 5/7/08 and thought nothing of the purchase at the time. I'm sure we checked out a report on the website at the time, and although i found a decent one, i've not found any since I started wondering where the ticket is!
We've transferred the bank balance over to another account today. and cancelled the card in case of any further transactions being taken from it. I can't get hold of their london phone number and would love to hear from anybody with either experience in the bank industry, or people who've suceeded in reclaiming their cash in this situation recently (as above quote mentions).
I really need to know whether we could reclaim the money through the bank (paid by visa debit card) and where I could seek further official guidance. I know credit cards offer certain protection for items that aren't recevied but where do I stand with Visa Debit?
Please help!0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.0

I'm in a similar situation with tickets bought with my Visa debit card and have been told by Barclays that I will receive a full refund. Ring the bank asap!0

I too have been conned by these guys. I have spent nearly £550 on tickets to see both Madonna and George Michael. Fortunately I have kept all my confirmation emails, copies of their T's & C's (if anyone needs them - please email me). They have overcharged me for the Madonna tickets (only just noticed that). I bought the Madonna tickets in April and GM in June. I've only just started searching on them after a very abrupt phone call with a woman who hung up on me - which started me thinking.
I paid with my debit card online (I bank with Abbey Nat) who have said that they can only dispute transactions less than 60-days old. So I have a hope of getting the June (GM) payments back.0 -
I have just read all the comments re SOS Mastertickets having received a nice email from someone after I was trying to sell my friend's ticket for next week's George Michael Concert at Earls Court re the above Company and the NON-likelihood of the tickets arriving. I am gob-smacked. I have just rung NatWest Access (Mastercard) who have passed on my details etc., to their Retail Disputes Service regarding 'scam' websites. They are going to get back to me on Monday. Fortunately, I paid for my four tickets with my credit card so I should be covered but it has ruined plans for next weekend, I have the train tickets, the hotel is booked and now I think I will have to find something else to do there!!!! I have kept all my confirmation emails, T's and C's of sale so if I can help anyone else, please post. Debbie:A0

I work for a legitimate ticket company within their customer services and we have had a few people phoning about this company thinking that we were they. Contact trading standards and your credit card company is highly reccomended i think.0

Hi,
Just to add to the list, my sons purchased two tickets from SOS Ticketmaster for the coming weekend's Leeds Festival. My wife rang them last week and was told the tickets would arrive today, and to ring them if thay didn't turn up. Tried to ring today, and constantly engaged, rang directory enquiries and it turns out the number has now been disconnected.
Purchased the tickets with a Virgin credit card, and my wife tells me the T&C's of the card say purchases of tickets isn't covered - can this be correct? Can they get round their Consumer Credit Act liabilities?
Regards,
MarkP0 -
