The fat trap is a good idea. I'd love to have a little bird table or similar but the only birds we get around here are seagulls, and they scoff everything and no other little birds get a chance. If I was to set up a little bird table the seagulls would scoff everything or the fat pigeons we have too.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. What do you do with your fat if you have cats which means no birds come within a street of your garden?Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

Just have to bin it I guess.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

Grease the cats paws with it so they can't chase after the birds??
I must admit that I thought they did fantastically, but all of these families seem far keener to give things a try than most programmes in this vein.
I wish I knew how they lowered their fuel bills so much though. Mine are astoundingly high still although I did manage to do much better on the last reading.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Same here, Powergen are direct debiting me for £100 a month [for gas and electricity, 1 person in a 2 bedroom flat] at the moment and the central heating hasn't been on for at least 5 months! Checked on uswitch and apparently Powergen is still the cheapest option."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

of everything that comes along their way."

The program is starting to annoy me tbh. The families are just morons who need a kick up the backside. The mother last night when she was screwing up her face, screeching "really?" got right up my nose.
And the presenter, if she rode that bike everywhere like they claim, she wouldn't be such a lard-!!!!!!! (not that there's anything wrong with being a lard-!!!!!!, i'm fairly hefty myself, but still!)0 -

The people they get on it are unbelievable - I mean having your heating at 24 degrees and the windows open. I wouldn't be able to relax thinking of all the waste! Plus the fact I'd just be too hot!0 -

Exactly, I live in a well insulated 2 bed flat, I've only been there a couple of months, so haven't had a winter yet, but i'll be very begrudged if i even consider putting my central heating on at all. I'd rather put a sweater on and save money.
The conservatory they had was pretty crap too, I reckon that conservatories should have stricter building regs. The walls and floors should all be fully insulated and the glass should be triple glazed, otherwise it's just letting the heat out of the whole house!0 -

I get the feeling that on these sorts of programs they find people who are absolutely ridiculous and shower them with moneysaving gifts, when those of us who actually try to save money and the environment actually have to pay for it ourself.0 -
It's probably just like teaching your granny to suck eggs when you lot watch it though
I think it's good as there are a lot of people who live like that, beleive it or not. I'm sure I have been guilty of it in the past myself, but trying to change all that now.
I liked the way the showed the financial saving as I think that's a bit more of a kick up the !!!!!! to most people than doing it just for the environment, especially when it is so easy to think 'what difference is one person going to make?'Anna :beer:0
