We've got snow here -- started about an hour ago.

Huge flakes coming down very fast, but not sticking as it's been raining all morning :(

CW, don't forget to factor in extra heating costs for running your nursery/childminding business if rooms need to be maintained at 21C or whatever and hot water available at all times. I'd love to give that a go (the room temps, not the childminding) just to find out how much it cost but daren't even try it. :rotfl:
I plan to worry about that when I get there :D At the moment I'm over £120 in credit, and paying them around 6% of my monthly income !! If/when I start childminding I'll have extra coming in, so will be able to afford to increase my DD -- and I can offset some of the earnings against household costs before I have to declare for tax (and tax credit) purposes. Not sure what the figure is for utility bills, but I know I can write off 10% for wear and tear to furnishing and such......

There are two ways of posting the result

One is to copy and paste them, and then use fullstops to align the columns (I used to change the full stops to white so they didn't show)

The other (as I did last week) is to use some screen capture software. I use something called King Kong, and all I do is highlight the section of the screen I want and save it out to an image file. I then uploaded it to Photobucket and inserted it into this thread by using the insertimage.gificon

Aha, very smart!! Will try this next week...now if you can just figure out what's going on with Imeasure we'll officially make you the mastermind genius :)

Actually, I'd love to get my hands on their system and debug it..... but I doubt it's written in a language I've used, so would possibly take me a tad longer to do than I'd like. But if it isn't in one of 'my' languages, there's a pretty even chance my DS would be able to tackle it ;)

  • Whoopee!!!!! Got my dual fuel bill and it's £53.50 less than this time last year :j

and that's with the higher prices now! I'm £130.66 in credit too, so the next bill should also be good. I don't think I've ever been in credit in January before, so  to all of you on this thread for inspiring me to use less.

Also, the amount i-measure calculates my spends at for the 26 weeks since I started recording my readings with them is only £4.51 out! So it certainly works for me.

    Money Spent

How has my energy spend been calculated?
    Last week you spent:
    • £12.08 on gas
    • £5.88 on electricity
Total you have spent on energy since starting imeasure (26 weeks ago):
    • £210.69 on gas
    • £185.40 on electricity
    making a total of £396.09 - actual cost (on 2 bills) £391.58

I seem to have gone to 20/48 in the carbon club but when I change to compare with 'all electric' households it tells me there weren't any others. Surely this can't be right? I can't possibly be the only person on there with no gas or oil? Anyone here all electric?
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Having been 35/48 and 46/48 - both today in the carbon club - now I'm 1/48.....and really confused.
