Hooray! We are now on a B rating, despite the below freezing temperatures we've been having up here lately. Granted, I have cashmere bed socks practically stapled to my feet and have been wearing a dressing gown over my jumper for the last week, but still. I've just put the heating on for slightly longer as it really has been getting cold, and we have visitors at the weekend so no doubt our usage will shoot up as they're not used to the cold!
Last week you spent:- £7.67 on gas
- £4.68 on electricity
- £68.03 on gas
- £74.76 on electricity

Just done this weeks readings -- electricity use is exactly the same as last week (76kWh), but gas has gone up from 205kWh to 319kWk (almost as much in one week as the 4 week period from 7th Oct to 3rd Nov)......
I know on Thursday I banged the water on for a boost at around 11am (as we were showering back-to-back prior to funeral) and forgot to turn it off until 9pm ( ), but don't think that accounts for ALL the extra. I've not had the heating on any extra hours (and turned it down a nudge a few days ago), so can only assume it's had to work harder due to the cold weather
Last week you spent:- £10.85 on gas (s/sheet figure = £10.84)
- £9.12 on electricity (s/sheet figure = £8.41)
- £44.59 on gas (s/sheet figure = £50.68)
- £94.32 on electricity (s/sheet figure = £86.35)

We're still on the 'D' rating we hit last week, and it looks like (even with the further rise in gas use) the electricity is still our major culprit. I'm convinced this will improve once elder DS is back at work after New YearYounger DS hasn't been in to college this last week either, as that's an extra 4 days of computer use by him compared to a 'normal' term-time reading.
We're down from 43/58 to 56/59 in the Carbon Club :eek:Cheryl0 -
Well, I'm 25/59 and a D, but gas will rocket this week as it's been freezing yesterday and today, snow and ice today.
Last week you spent:- £18.66 on gas
- £8.40 on electricity
- £82.30 on gas
- £131.28 on electricity

Well I am tucked up in bed with my hot water bottle, low energy laptop and lightbulb rather than on the sofa with my high energy plasma tv and the heat going. Having a rare night to myself so indulging in lack of energy consumption
Blooming freezing here though and at some point will have to go and clean teeth etc, hopefully I won't be found frozen to the sink in the morning.
This had better show up on the energy bill this week!0 -

Well done you - you are making a good effort this week!
Today have racked up an amazing 19 units of electicity and 100 KWH of gas!0 -
Well its still freezing here and it looks like the freezing temperatures are going to stay, so we won't be saving any money this week.0

I havn't seen this for years - I woke up this morning to find the bedroom window iced up on the inside and the thermometer at 6C in the kitchen. Just put the heating on for a bit while I check emails and make sure the pipes will be ok then head back to the duvet.
There's snow on the ground and I've heard there will be more tonight.:p0 -

Gosh, Get the heating on :rotfl:Ice in the inside. I've not seen that since I were a child.
Where abouts are you?
Its been very cold here the last week (Nr Manchester). Its never gone higher than 2 deg today even though we have had sunshine.0 -
Oooooo..... a local
We've been cold my side of Manchester, but no fresh 'white stuff'. Tomorrow could be a different story though, as they're forecasting 8" of snow and blizzards. DD is supposed to be getting to mine for just after 8am so we can get elder GD to a 9:30am hospital appt....... mind, with the bus problems yesterday our arrival for a 9am appt became 11:30am !!! But tomorrow's appt is for a more complex/longer test, so I don't think they'll see her if we're much after the alloted spot...... and I've already told DD there's no way I'm driving if it's even as bad as yesterday morning :eek:Cheryl0
