Umm... sneaks in with head hanging in shame... You know I said I had switched on 2 of the storage heaters and that it would take a couple of days for them to heat up? They STILL haven't heated up anywhere near enough to make the remotest difference to how cold the house is and last night's meter reading was 19! And that is WITHOUT the hot water coming on or the washing machine! I knew it would end up at 20 per night, I just knew it! Oh, the joys of living in a house with no central heating and no log fire!
Only 3 more heaters to add to that when winter kicks in! :eek:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Yes its chilly here at the moment and you could smell ice this morning. Forecast is abit chilly for the next day or two.
Northerly winds forecast. brrrrr.
Forewarned is forearmed though so time to look for a hot water bottle.0 -
our heating came on this morning and tonight. it is 10 degrees outside here and my heating is set for 18.0

Ah well, our heating went on yesterday - according to my friend's car it was 7 degrees outside and according to our rather crude temperature gauge it was 15 degrees inside, even with the heating on (it hadn't been on for very long & has been off all week as we've been out).
I'm dreading this week's results!!
Must remember to turn it off again if the weather gets warmer...0 -
It was very cold out this morning but have not put the heating on yet. Going to buy a new Duvet tommorrow.0

My 20 units I was expecting to use when I switched on 2 storage heaters was waaaaaaaaaaaay out! The overnight count exploded to [STRIKE]41![/STRIKE] Sorry, that should have read 31! This is so unfair when comparing the entire UK as it has been so cold here. Mum's already been on the phone saying there's sleat further up and the first frost has arrived. Sun's shining right now but I don't have a thermostat (or any south facing windows that can let some sunshine and warmth into the house). I need a new house asap.

Well it looks ilke I'm going to have to give up and put the heating on its freezing here this morning, We're going out soon so going to leave it of this morning and wait till we get back this afternoon, you never know it may warm up in the meantime or next door might put theirs on and we can steal some of their heat.0
