Good luck to everyone who made it into the i-measure competition. I'm being selfish here and wishing I could win, but will be equally pleased to hear if the prize goes to someone else on here
Tomorrow is 1st October and tonight I am switching on what little heating we have. It comprises of 4 storage heaters - one on the first floor landing, one in the bathroom, one in the livingroom and one on the second floor landing. The two on the ground floor don't work, but I'm still dreading tomorrow's meter reading. Please don't condemn me for my power 'eruption', this is the only source of heat we have in this house and it falls well short of being enough once the winter months arrive, that's for sure. I'm just hoping that the dehumidifier avoids the need for the tumble dryer and keeps the dampness out the hallway. Fingers crossed, I suspect tomorrow's overnight reading will be in the region of 25 kw units! Watch this (cold/damp) space.
I'm expecting to be last in next week's carbonclub scoreI reserve the right not to spend.

Hi, I've been on the I-measure site for 4 weeks and have got a full set of results. I am on a D rating.
The heating has been on for about an hour or so this week, but it is our only source of heat.
Does anyone else look forward to Mondays so you can enter you details. Must remember to put my readings on my on-line billing site.
CO2 for the household 57 Kg

Hi all:hello:
Our heating didn't come on last night but did come on this morning for about 10 minutes as the temperture dropped to 18 overnight. Lights are on much more now but this really doesn't seem to be making a huge difference to our electricity usage, so the energy saving light bulbs appear to be doing their job.
I'm going to read our gas meter tomorrow, so I'll see what effect the heating is having on our gas use.
Good Luck:D

Quite a drop in the temperature this morning 14C brrrrrrrr heatings off at the mo as I'm airing the flat.
Good luck everyone on the draw.
My carbon rating has dropped down to a 'D' after sitting on a 'C' yesterday.:( so probably about 20% below average on consumption.:)

No heating on here yet, woke up in the middle of the night and it was freezing cold, so going to dig out the winter duvet. House seems to warm up quite well during the day hence no heating requirement just yet.0

Hi guys, we don't have central heating or a thermostat or, even, a thermometer, but it is very cold and damp here, so I switched on 2 more of the storage heaters at the lowest setting. My overnight power consumption more than doubled to 11 kwu, and that's without the 6 units it takes to heat the water. Worse still, the heaters still weren't even warmed up by this morning, as they take about 2 days for the heat to come through! Result - I still don't know how many units per heater they are going to use until they are fully heated and just 'topping up' during the night. I'm expecting to hit 50 units per 24 hours before the year's out, but this will still be half of what the landlord said he was using whilst living here!
Edited in - I just checked my ranking on the MoneySaving carbon club and I'm now at 26/46.
I have now completed my September chart for total consumption.
Total night time units - 197
Total day time units - 201
Average units - 13.27 per day (September)I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I am going to join in too if you'll have me
I have just signed up to the i-whatsit site, but no meter readings as yet as I am at work.
Should I enter one tonight, or leave it until next week's entry day now?
We do have a Wattson energy meter, which has been surprisingly helpful - Mr Feesh refers to it as a "him" and we chastise eachother about leaving lights on by saying that "Wattson will be angry"so it means I don't have to nag so much about energy use - it's done for me by Wattson in a nice way!
But we still have a long way to go - our house is very inefficient (Victorian terrace) and we are both a bit lazy sometimes about energy usage.
Also I am ALWAYS cold and love cranking up the central heating when Mr Feesh's back is turned
So this will be a real experience for us both - I'll try and keep posting with our progress.
Feesh

Ooh, feesh you sound like me, even down to the Victorian terrace. I have slashed our electricity use but am dragging my heels on the gas because I hate being cold but I do like to sit!
I think we all have different i-measure weeks so you can start when you like.0
